Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split on service. Praise centers on friendly staff, with one diner's small dog getting chicken from the chef. Complaints are more detailed: a very long wait for loaded fries, staff asking about the app instead of checking a drink order, and a long unserved wait at the bar. One finds the music too loud at lunchtime, another the upstairs quiz tense.

“I went to this disgusting pub on Saturday night, at a time which wasn’t that busy, I then waited at the bar for 24 minutes without being served when I raised my hand whilst saying excuse me in a polite manner they responded with,’ putting your hand up isn’t going to get you served faster’ in a rough off putting accent. Hated experience never wish to return. Also toilets were repulsive.”

“My friends and I were very disappointed by the Comedy Junction quiz upstairs (not the pub itself or the station's pub quiz that happens downstairs). We felt the quiz was geared more towards people born in the 70s/80s and the hosts were very aware of this as they made comments throughout the night to the effect of "some of you in here will be too young to know any of these". I think a quiz you don't know the answers to can be fun if the atmosphere is good, but the host and maker of the quiz created an atmosphere that was (for my friends and I, at least) tense and uncomfortable at times. Before the quiz even started, the man who made the quiz listened into a conversation my friends were having and proceeded to make an inappropriate comment that made them feel uncomfortable. Then, during the quiz, my friend pointed out that one of the answers given by the host was incorrect. Though multiple other patrons agreed, the creator of the quiz insisted he was correct. He and the host of the quiz spoke to my friend in an incredibly patronising way, shoving his phone in her face and insisting the TikTok he had seen was correct, yet once the correct answer had been settled (the creator was incorrect) the host repeated over the microphone to the whole room that it was "only a point". I do not think they would have spoken to us in this way if we were men around their age, and I think they took particular issue with being corrected by a young woman as they refused to believe she could be correct and mocked her when it was proved she was. I would also encourage the quiz creators to look into the ethical issues surrounding use of generative Al. Almost all of the visuals for the quiz are created with Al, which the host and creator are very proud of and bragged about multiple times. I hope at the very least the questions are not Al generated, as Al is notoriously unreliable. If we'd have known we would be made to feel so unwelcome, or that it would include such heavy use of Al, we would not have paid £3 each to play the quiz. The lady helping with the organisation of the quiz was lovely though. She was the best part.”

“Came for a few drinks and food. Never been here before. Service was poor to be honest. Had to wait 40 odd minutes for a loaded fries. Drinks weren't cheap. Staff were more interested in asking if I had the app than making sure they had my drink order correct. The pub is decorated nicely inside and out. But a combination of poor service, bog standard choice of beers and stinky toilets would mean I'd probably go elsewhere next time”

“Went here for a meal & took our small dog, staff were very friendly, the chef even gave our dog some chicken which went down very well, thanks Jon”

“Nice pub, decent place to go for a pint. Music is far too loud and overbearing. Don't need to be shouting across the table at 1pm. Made me, and others, leave”
