Customer Review Summary
The complaints are specific. One longtime customer says recent Uber Eats wraps have had barely any meat, with more salad and bread than filling. One reviewer reports being served chicken that was raw and red inside, says it was recooked rather than replaced, and describes an angry exchange with the owner before a refund was given. A minor gripe is that sauce bottles no longer sit on the tables.

“Been going here since it opened, Was always the best around until the past year or so, My past few orders especially on Uber Eats my wrap has had barely any meat in it, like there's more salad and bread then actual meat. Every order recently has been disappointing. Farewell Shawarma City”

“❤️ POSITIVES: Very clean place to eat from — consistently tidy and well‑kept. I’ve never had any issues with their food. The lamb shawarma and chicken shawarma are both solid, and everything is fresh; naan, salad, chicken, lamb. ⚠️ NEGATIVES: They’ve stopped putting sauce bottles on the tables, which was convenient. Not a major issue, but it did make the experience better.”

“Your reply is just as disappointing as the experience I had in your restaurant. Instead of taking responsibility for serving raw chicken to a child, you chose to attack my character and falsely accuse me of trying to get free food. That is completely untrue. I am a business owner myself, and I understand the importance of customer service and taking responsibility when mistakes happen. I never asked for free food. I raised a genuine food safety concern because the chicken was raw. Any responsible parent would have done exactly the same. What is most shocking is that rather than apologising or investigating the issue, you decided to publicly insult a long-standing customer and make false accusations. That says far more about your business than it does about me. The refund was offered by your staff after I refused to accept another poorly handled meal. I did not demand it. If your food had been cooked properly in the first place, none of this would have happened. I have no reason to lie or seek free food. I simply expect food to be safe to eat and customers to be treated with respect. Your response has only confirmed that I made the right decision to share my experience. I hope future customers never have to go through what my family and I experienced. Original post I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Shawarma City. I ordered chicken for my son, and when we started eating it, I noticed that the chicken was raw and red inside, with what looked like blood. I immediately brought this to the staff’s attention because serving undercooked chicken is a serious health concern. Instead of preparing a fresh meal, they simply took the same chicken away and recooked it. I also ordered another chicken meal to take away, but they gave me a broken, open piece of chicken with the bones exposed, claiming it was because I had complained that the previous chicken was raw. There was no need to break the chicken apart to that extent. Properly cooked chicken should be served whole and cooked thoroughly without exposing the bones in such a manner. When I refused to accept it, the owner became angry and started speaking aggressively in his native language. His behaviour was rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Eventually, they agreed to refund my money. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that I have been a loyal customer of Shawarma City for a long time, and I have never experienced anything like this before. However, food safety and customer service should always be a priority. Serving raw chicken and then responding to a genuine complaint with hostility is not acceptable. I hope the management takes this matter seriously and improves both their food preparation standards and the way they treat customers.”
