About Dal Barista - Coffee Bar And Bistro
Sardinian dishes run through the Italian menu at Dal Barista - Coffee Bar And Bistro, a bistro and coffee bar on Little Underbank in the Underbanks area of Stockport. The owner brings the daily specials to each table and talks them through, so guests hear what the kitchen is cooking before they order. A couple run the place with service handled by two people, so plates arrive at a considered pace rather than at fast food speed. Breakfast is a regular order here, with a large English breakfast and a vegetarian one, each served with a little salad alongside. Pasta features as well, including a king prawn version. Background music plays across the room, which is fitted out with seating for sit-down meals. High chairs are on hand, so families with young children can settle in and eat together. The kitchen runs Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays, and booking ahead is advised.

Customer Review Summary
The large breakfast draws the most repeat praise, described as cooked crisp and well done, served with a bit of salad that several found refreshing and beans mixed with fresh herbs, with a vegetarian version singled out just as warmly. Close behind sit the Sardinian and Italian dishes the owner talks diners through, including four or five daily specials, a starter of broad beans with rustic garlic bread and olive oil, a pasta carrying a taste of fennel, and king prawn pasta praised for its flavour. Good quality coffee and the milkshakes also come up, along with background music, comfortable chairs and portions reviewers call fair value. One visitor notes the shop is small with service limited to two people and flags it is not fast food, and describes the food as slightly charred though still filling. One party marking a 52nd wedding anniversary describes staff going out of their way, and another recalls a waiter declining a tip on the condition they return.

“An incredible hiddem gem with amazing food, great options (including 4-5 specials on the day - all explained thoroughly) and brilliant service. Waiter politely turned down a tip on the condition we would return, so I guess we’ll have to🤷♂️”

“My sister and I have been meaning to go to Dal Barista for a while, as it had been recommended by a few people. Finally made it there Sunday afternoon (just dropped in late afternoon and was quiet then) and we had a fantastic meal. Pericle, the owner, explained a number of Sardinian special dishes that were on the menu and we could not resist. Had a starter of Broad beans and rustic garlic bread and olive oils drizzled over them. Gorgeous. Then we shared 2 pasta dishes - so full of flavour - one with a lovely taste of fennel. Great background music and lovely setting. Pericle was passionate about Sardinian, authentic Italian food and made us feel very welcome. Very good value and will definitely be returning.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
