Customer Review Summary
Salmon is the dish reviewers name most, both dill-encrusted and honey glazed, and both are called delicious. Close behind are the steak pie and lamb shank, a chicken and leek pie, and salt and pepper chicken with chips. The veggie burger and the Faerie Burger also earn praise, and the sticky toffee pudding and fudge cake come up among desserts. Staff are described again and again as friendly, with one regular noting the team remembers preferences on return visits. Diners call the atmosphere welcoming and cosy, mention a wooden canopied terrace, and note that dogs are welcome. A couple of reviewers suggest booking ahead because the place gets busy. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found the burgers dry and bland, received plenty of lettuce after asking for none, and thought the dish overpriced for its quality. That diner also waited for the table to be cleared and the bill to arrive, then went to the bar to pay. Another family recalls staff being understanding when a toddler tried to use a whole bottle of ketchup.

“I visited The Faerie Tree Inn about 10 times when staying in Aberfoyle in May 2026. It was my go to place for supper and a couple of pints after a long day walking and hiking in the area. The front team are very friendly and helpful and take note of preferences on return visits. They are attentive in ensuring all is well once I was squared away without being too intrusive - a hard balance to find. The food was of consistent quality - I especially recommend the twisted Balmoral chicjen and dill-encrusted salmon. The sticky toffee pudding, while not a fave dessert of mine, is to my surprise delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming though there's no bar with stools to sit at before settling down at a table for a meal. If I get back to Aberfoyle - and I very much hope I do - I will be back again and again to The Faerie Tree Inn!”

“Came here after go ape! Amazing food and service. Got the salt and pepper chicken and chips, a fabulous portion after swinging around for my life. They were very accomudating. Had a lovely fudge cake for dessert with amazingly tastey choclate details. The atmosphere was lovely! A good amount of busy, with a nice cosy vibe. Very dog freindly too! Empty plate clubs (almost) all round.”

“While staying at a nearby resort for a week stay we ended up having dinner here three times following our daily excursions. We found the food and service to be excellent. I really enjoyed the steak pie and the lamb shank. The vegetables were crisp just the way I like them. It is advisable to make reservations if possible.”

“We visited The Faerie Tree In on a weekday and it was quite busy at night so I would recommend booking in advance if possible. The food was lovely and well portioned. We had a game of pool (£1) while we waited on our food and the starter actually came quick which was great. Drinks are reasonably priced also. There is a decent sized car park out front. We would come back here again when we are in the area.”
