About Westerton Arms
Westerton Arms is a pub at 34 Henderson St in Bridge of Allan, said to have been a local favourite for over a century. The kitchen serves a Scottish cooked breakfast and brunch, so the pub works as a daytime stop as well as a place for a pint. The main menu includes a beef shin main with dauphinoise potatoes, roasted carrots, broccoli and carrot purée. Pies also feature, with a steak pie among them. Guinness is on the bar, and soccer plays on the screens for those who come to watch a match. The pub is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the shin of beef, with several describing the stew-like meat as cooked to perfection and still memorable the next day, served with dauphinoise potatoes, roasted carrots and carrot puree. Close behind are the pies, with one reviewer recommending the pie, and the mussels and king prawn linguine, plus berry spring rolls with ice cream for dessert. A Scottish cooked breakfast is called one of the best a reviewer has had, and one family praised the pancakes. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is described as lively and homely, with one disabled reviewer noting the seating and toilet access were thoughtfully handled. The complaints are about kitchen and ordering errors. One brunch table received a mash-up of two dishes, with beans from a different plate instead of sourdough, chorizo and black pudding, after the server disappeared without taking an order. Another reviewer found the chicken and black pudding pie burnt and dry, though the steak pie was lovely. One reviewer returned three days running for lunch and dinner.

“We had a lovely meal here last night, shin of beef with dauphonois potatoes, roasted carrots, broccoli, carrot puree. It was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. For dessert we had berry spring rolls with ice cream, again excellent. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again if we’re ever in the area.”
