About The Crossed Peels
The Crossed Peels is a pub on Spittal St in Stirling, split over two floors. The lower level has a real log-burning fire, and the upstairs room has large windows running the length of both sides of the building. Breakfast is served, including a Freedom breakfast, and tea and coffee come with free refills. For lunch and dinner, the kitchen turns out burgers, pizzas, vegetarian choices and deli deal options. At the bar, guest cask ales and Guinness sit alongside craft beers and gins, and the cider list includes Angry Orchard. Ordering runs through the Wetherspoon app, and the team brings food to the table.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the breakfast, especially the Freedom breakfast with extra bacon, praised as consistent and filling for the money, alongside free-refill coffee. Close behind is the food and drink at good prices: a venison special, fish, and gourmet burgers described as very nice, with Guinness, guest cask ales and a cold cider singled out. Ordering on the app is called quick and dependable, and staff are repeatedly described as friendly and efficient. The two floors draw comment too, with a log fire downstairs and large windows upstairs, though one reviewer found no seats upstairs and another says Friday and Saturday nights make finding a seat difficult. The main complaint is lukewarm food. One regular reports mostly cold breakfasts and only one hot one in six, getting a replacement after complaining but a cold plate again later, and another found a gourmet burger not hot at all. A draughty open door, with several customers getting up to close it, and people playing videos without headphones also come up. Chips were called ok but not great.

“A nice surprise. Got the special (venison) and really tasty. Missus got the fish and also loved it. Food was not solid it was tasty to eat and would recommend. Bearing in mind it's a sample size of two meals. Chips were ok but not great is my only critique. Staff were great, there when you needed them.”

“I like this pub. It has great views and is nice and central. Only thing is that I usually go for breakfast which is a treat to myself. Current rate is 5 cold breakfasts and 1 hot one. I have complained and got a hot breakfast last time. Was optimistic that things had improved until today's cold breakfast. I worked in kitchens and would have more pride.”

“We stopped off in The CROSSED Peels for coffee before walking up the hill to have a look around Stirling Castle. It was so nice in the pub, we decided to pop back in for dinner after our snoop around the castle. Today was very hot, (a rarity I know) but arriving back in the Ctossef Peels for a cold Angry Orachard cider and a Long Island Ice Tea, before dinner really hit the spot. Our sever was Beth, and she was an absolute dream to have looking after us. She was cheerful and helpful, especially with my extra requests. I wanted to buy some extra bottles of Angry Oarchd cider to takr home, as I can't get it at there, and as I don't like Ice cream she was happy to alter my order to suite my taste. Now that's how to keep customers coming back to your brand. Take note Weatherspoons!!!. Our food was delicious and quick to arrive, I would say this was one of the best Weatherspoons we have use. Well done The Crossrd Peels.”

“It's a great two-story pub with ample seating in general, but it can be difficult to find a seat on Friday and Saturday nights.”

“The pub is open for breakfast until 12 noon and offers free refills (all day every day) on tea and Lavazza coffee. For lunch and dinner, there are lighter bites, with deli deal options and vegetarian choices, gourmet burgers and freshly made pizzas. Wetherspoon has championed a wide range of drinks, including real ales, craft beers, gins and soft drinks. Table service is available via the Wetherspoon app, using our unlimited free Wi-Fi. This pub has step-free access.”
