Customer Review Summary

Nachos come up most, from chicken nachos loaded with fresh toppings to the Machos Nachos, and one diner calls them the best they have ever had. Close behind are the birria tacos, described as tender beef slow-cooked in rich broth, and the enchiladas, one reviewer's favourite. Chicken fajitas, a chicken burrito, prawns and a tamarind margarita also earn praise, and several call the Mexican flavours bold. Reviewers describe the staff as friendly and welcoming. One server asked what spice level a diner wanted, and another made arrangements for a guest to pray at sunset. The recurring complaints are cost and pace. A few find it slightly expensive, one says service was slow on a Sunday afternoon, and another felt service fell short of the food. Portions are called huge or generous, and a couple of reviewers say dishes can be shared. One party of fourteen ordered nachos while the mains were prepared, took leftovers home, and noted a photo wall of sombreros that kids would enjoy.

“Stopped by on 10 october. Just off a 2 week cruise. We were looking for something good to eat whilst walking around. Lucked upon this gem that the wife saw. My wife is Mexican and has a discerning palate. We were both blown away by all aspects of our meal. Our host/waiter/server Kareem did a great job making us feel welcome and answering all of our questions on the menu. He even asked the spice level we desired. The chicken fajitas were amazing. The wife even said she thought they were the best she ever had. I had the chicken burrito and it filled me up perfectly!! This place is a winner and they deserve all the accolades. Would definitely eat here again the next time were in the area !!”

“What an amazing place! If you’re looking for a sit down restaurant this is the place to go, the food was phenomenal. The best nachos and enchiladas I’ve had in my life! Lovely atmosphere with music playing in the background, 11/10 would recommend to anyone.”

“He had a family day out in the park last Saturday and made a last minute decision to eat out for dinner. We found The Mexicanos and 14 of us turned up. Decor was lovely, service was great and the food was amazing! We ordered nachos whilst the mains were being prepared and had a lovely evening. Portion sizes are great and we took our leftovers home. This is a lovely family-run restaurant and people need to visit these establishments more! Support local! We will definetely be coming back. Also, they have a lovely photo wall with a selection of sombreros... ur kids are gonna love it!”

“The Mexicanos absolutely blew us away. Mexican food is one of our favourite cuisines, and we eat it often, but I can confidently say that this is the best Mexican food we have ever eaten. Plus the service was warm and friendly. Make sure to stop by here after a trip to Thorpe Park.”
