Quick info
About The Horns Inn
On High St in Stafford, The Horns Inn combines a pub and restaurant with a menu built around vegan options served throughout the week rather than only on Sundays. Four vegan roast options anchor the offering, alongside dishes such as lasagne with garlic bread and fish and chips. Desserts are made by the chef and kept vegan, including bread and butter pudding and a Biscoff slice, with vegan ice cream, cream and custard available alongside them. The children's menu also includes vegan choices, making the pub workable for families eating together. The entrance is step-free and wheelchair accessible, and outdoor seating extends the space for those who prefer to eat outside. Dogs are welcome throughout. The pub opens daily, and reservations are recommended for those planning ahead.

Customer Review Summary
The vegan Sunday roast draws the most repeated praise, with several reviewers noting four separate vegan roast options plus a vegan menu running through the week, and a chef who makes desserts like the bread and butter pudding and Biscoff slice vegan so everyone can share them. Close behind, the regular pub food gets consistent credit: lasagne with homemade chips and garlic bread, the mixed grill and mixed sizzler, buffalo wings, and fish and chips with crispy batter, all described as generous and homemade. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and several diners mention dietary requests being noted and accommodated without fuss. One visit stands apart sharply: a reviewer arrived to find the hand pumps and J2O dispensers empty and the advertised vegan fish and chips unavailable, leading them to leave after ten to fifteen minutes, though they noted the staff present still seemed fine and suspected a management issue rather than a staff one. Multiple reviewers describe booking again or making long trips specifically for the vegan carvery.

“Pre-birthday treat from my little brother. We've been looking forward to visiting here. Their vegan menu has been a staggering success and the photos of the food make your mouth water. We were welcomed by the landlady Anne-Marie who could not have been more accommodating and the other staff treated us like new family. The sheer choice of food made it difficult to pick so we went mad; 3 starters, 2 huge mains, 1 huge dessert that we DID NOT have room for really! All the food was delicious 😋 10/10 - home made, tasty, huge portions - amazing value. Already booked again, need to keep going to try everything on the menu and then again to try a vegan carvery on a Sunday. Thank you for making our visit so special. Highly recommended. Glen & Chris.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First visit to The Horns Inn and it definitely won't be our last! The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and all of the staff were fantastic throughout our visit. We were really impressed by the extensive vegan menu and the variety of options available. To start, we had the Buffalo Wings and the Salt & Chilli Schicken Skewers—both were absolutely delicious and packed with flavour. For our mains, we chose the Mixed Grill and the Mixed Sizzler, both served with chips. The portions were generous, everything was cooked perfectly, and the flavours were excellent. It's great to find a pub offering such a wide range of quality vegan food without compromising on taste. Highly recommend The Horns Inn to anyone looking for great vegan options, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit! 🌱😊🍴”

“We made a 50 mile round trip for the Sunday lunch based on reviews today & glad we did!! Firstly, every single member of staff we met were friendly, attentive & helpful. My wife had said that we were vegan when booking & this was noted and we were given a big selection of options when we were at our table. Like the service, the food was absolutely amazing & obviously homemade. We travel a lot to find new places with a decent vegan menu & to find one not too far away with service that matches the food makes life a lot easier. Can't recommend highly enough!”

“Stopped at The Horns Inn today and had a really good meal. Big plus was how well they cater for vegans – four roast options, which is far more choice than you usually get. The main menu also has plenty of vegan dishes during the week, and there’s even a children’s menu with vegan options included. Desserts were a highlight. The chef makes everything herself and keeps them vegan so everyone can have them, which is a really nice touch and not something you see often. Bread and butter pudding and a Biscoff slice were both really good, and there’s vegan ice cream, cream and custard available too. Friendly place, good food, and very easy for mixed groups with different diets.”
