  “First time we have dined there and thought what on earth have we been missing! I have never had asian food to this quality, it was exquisite, the atmosphere lovely, restaurant was beautiful and staff very friendly and attentive. I cannot recommend it enough.”

  “Fabulous restaurant in Southampton city center, walking distance from west quay. Absolutely gorgeous decor and equally delicious food. I can't sing praises enough for the food here, loved the satay chicken skewers and the sauce was divine 😋. Waiter was very attentive and portion sizes fair. Will 100% be back if in Southampton.”

  “We recently visited Shanghai 1814 for a friend’s birthday, and it was our first time there — it definitely won’t be the last. The food was absolutely incredible — genuinely the nicest Chinese food I’ve ever had. Every dish was packed with flavour, and the portions were massive. We actually struggled to get through it all, which is never a bad problem to have! On top of that, it was really good value for money considering the quality and quantity of food. The atmosphere was lovely, and the décor is stunning — it really adds to the whole experience and makes it feel like a special place to visit. What really stood out as well was the service. When I made the booking, I mentioned it was for a friend’s birthday, and without us even asking, they brought out a happy birthday cheesecake for her. It was such a nice touch and felt like they’d really gone above and beyond to make the occasion special. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone, and we’ll definitely be back again soon.”

  “My wife and I came here for Valentines dinner and had a fantastic time. The venue itself has been designed beautifully and is really a stunning place to eat. With Valentines, it was a set menu at £58pp and that consisted of starters and mains. The food was delicious and easily the best chinese I've ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Asian food.”

  “Totally superb eating venue, has to be one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever eaten in, and there's been a few over the years. The deco is great with what I believe to be cherry blossom trees taking centre stage, I'm guessing fake though. Service was excellent overall.”

  “I was in the city for a short break with my girlfriend, and we stumbled upon this restaurant around 10 PM. The décor and design immediately caught my eye, and the lounge music created a sexy atmosphere. The service was excellent. The manager explained the menu to us, and we had our meal set up quickly. The drink options and cocktails were amazing. They had a unique twist on classic cocktails that still maintained the essence of their original recipes. I tried the spicy margarita, which was fantastic, and I enjoyed it so much I had five rounds! My partner preferred fruity and sweeter cocktails, so she tried three different ones, all of which she loved. The food was clearly made with love and passion. If you're looking for authentic Asian food in Southampton, this is the place to go. The spices and sauces were perfectly balanced. We ended the night on a high note, staying until the restaurant closed. On a separate note, if you're looking for more privacy, they also offer a private”
