About Bill's Southampton Restaurant
Bill's Southampton Restaurant is a British restaurant on WestQuay South in Southampton, near the waterfront. The menu runs across breakfast, brunch and dinner, and the Bill's big brunch is served alongside the regular breakfast options. Burgers also feature, with a beef burger and a classic burger on the list. Light bites and seasonal dishes sit next to a cocktail list, and the large menu offers a wide range of choices. The team takes orders and serves at the table. Westquay Shopping Centre is close by, so the restaurant works as a stop during a day of shopping.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often point to the brunch menu, especially Bill's big brunch with runny eggs and a nice bite to the sausage, and several praise the generous portions and sheer range of options. Close behind are the mac n cheese, the classic burger and the Garden Plate, with one reviewer enjoying the Lucky Saint lime and sea salt lager and another calling the cheesecake dessert a great novelty. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, quick and efficient, and a few mention the bright, comfortable seating. The complaints are about value and small details. One reviewer found the bottomless pancakes deal poor value, since the drink plus unlimited pancakes cost about the same as one regular portion, and the pancakes were sickly sweet. Another found the strawberry milkshake thin and the halloumi fries tiny, and disliked the added optional service charge. One felt the streaky bacon was very tough. Reviewers also describe a packed room on a busy weekday, with one family told walk-ins faced a long wait and advising others to book in advance. One family was still allowed to order breakfast after the cut off.

“The most amazing food, really enjoyed it. The menu is so vast there’s literally something for everyone. Maddie served us and she was excellent. Great evening out !”

“Overall a bit of a disappointment Was going to go for a smoothie but was told it wasn’t thick and was more like a juice so went for a milkshake after being advised it was thick but it was literally strawberry flavored milk and a very small amount but it didn’t matter because I couldn’t drink it anyway. The fish pie was ok , but the halloumi fries were tiny portion for £6. Was going to leave a small tip because service was ok apart from bad advice on the milkshake but then noticed there is a 12 and a half percent service charge added although it does say optional but then you have to go through the embarrassment of asking for it to be taken off which I couldn’t be bothered to do. Won’t be returning”

“Came for lunch with my bestie and we received the best welcome and service from Ibz! Such a lovely guy was super chatty was super bubbly and definitely put a smile on our faces! It’s really refreshing to receive the same level of service you give at your own place at work! And to add to it he went on break and had a little chat with us whilst waiting for his food 🤣 Great customer service!!”

“Thank you, Joely. You were a perfect waitress: helped with our choices, were professional, efficient and fun. When we left, a couple were lost looking for Bill's...we gave directions and said to ask for Joely. All other staff we interacted with were super. What assets you all are for Bill's businesses. Food was tasty, well presented and the cheesecake dessert was a great novelty. Many thanks, looking forward to coming back”

“I wish I could give this place a 4.5 instead of 4 because unfortunately I cannot give it a 5. Its a nice place but the prices are quite high and their bottomless pancakes deal is a bit of a scam. You need to buy a drink which is 4-5£ then a further 5£ for unlimited pancakes, but you'll max have 2 plates. A regular portion of these pancakes is around 11£ so if youre like me and can only eat 1 portion, its the same price. I did enjoy the pancakes, I tried bacon, berries, and biscof, they're just incredibly sickly sweet.”

“Southampton Docks is the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine (though we can’t promise the sun will turn up) and coastal views. Once you’ve had your dose of Vitamin Sea, visit Bill’s just up the road from the waterfront for a watertight menu of light bites, seasonal dishes and signature cocktails. With various mouth-watering options spanning breakfast, brunch and dinner, it’s perfect if you’re on a day out or stopping to refuel after a spot of retail therapy at Westquay Shopping Centre.”
