Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to large portions and the waterside terrace with its marina view, with burgers, the salt and pepper squid, and the Sunday roast named among the better dishes. One describes a huge fish and chips, and another praises the roast's gravy. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and a lively atmosphere is noted, including cheers during a football match. Food quality draws mixed reactions. Several call it only okay, with plain burgers, a bland seafood pasta, a Bolognese with minimal flavor, and a Caesar salad with too much dressing, while the fries get praise. One reviewer found the Texan rib and wing combo's chicken tough, though the ribs were the best part. Others report slow drinks, with lemonades arriving well after smoothies and tap water requested repeatedly, and one says the venue was too loud to talk across a table of five. One reviewer says another table's items were added to their bill. Several suggest booking ahead, and one advises checking the receipt before paying.

“Nice visit for family dinner. Sat outside which was lovely after a very warm day. Seen well by lovely staff. Food was okay. Burgers were a bit plain, no sauce etc. Seafood pasta was also a bit bland. One of our party had the fish and chips, huge portion. Really enjoyed. Enjoyed coming here overall.”

“Food was barely meh. Bolognese had minimal flavor, the pizza was very generic, the Caesar salad had too much dressing. The winner of the dinner was the French fries which is why it got 3 stars. It was all edible, don’t get me wrong. But I definitely could have done better making any of it at home.”

“We had a really fantastic meal at Banana Wharf Ocean Village. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The atmosphere was lively and the vie from the outdoor terrace was gorgeous. Our favourite thing about the restaurant was the welcoming staff, particularly Linda, who was so friendly and sweet. I even joined Trip Advisor so we could leave a great review there too! Would highly recommend.”

“Banana Wharf can be a go-to spot in Ocean Village for relaxed, waterside dining with a great view of the marina. Perfect for sunny days on the terrace or lively evenings. They have a broad, globally-inspired menu; think hearty burgers, pasta, fresh seafood, and popular sharing platters. Though portion isn't big enough for the price. Best for sunset cocktails, family meals, or casual weekend hangouts. Book ahead if you want a table with a direct view of the boats, especially during the summer. Make sure to check the receipt before you pay, as they can mistakenly add another table's items to your bill. The servers and stuffs are always friendly there.”
