Customer Review Summary

Homemade cakes are the most frequent draw, with reviewers praising freshly made choices and, at one afternoon tea for nine, scones straight out of the oven, lemon meringue pie and eclairs. Close behind are the breakfasts: a full English called good quality and good value, a veggie breakfast, and avocado toast with smashed avocado and two softly poached eggs. Toasted sandwiches and flatbread also earn praise, and many describe friendly staff and a great stop around the lakes. The complaints are specific. One reviewer said the mocha tasted nothing like chocolate, and another has never found the coffee great. A dog owner says an older woman refused water for their dog inside and demanded the bowl be picked up. A fussy eater was left with only a bowl of chips, found the caramel cheesecake flavourless, and thought the room loud and crowded. Still, one walk-in found staff sourcing a table when the cafe was fully booked.
