About The Meeting Place

The Meeting Place is a cafe in Beighton village, Sheffield, on High Street, running a menu of 102 items that spans cooked breakfasts, sandwiches, and cakes. The Traditional Breakfast covers sausage, chips, egg, and beans, and the Victoria Sponge sits alongside coffee and cakes on the counter. Food is brought to the table rather than served over a counter. Outdoor seating gives an option for eating outside, and high chairs make it workable for families with young children. Dogs are welcome inside, and free Wi-Fi is available for anyone stopping in with a laptop or phone. It opens daily through the daytime only, and reservations are recommended. Takeaway is also available for anyone eating off site. The full 102-item menu gives a wider spread than a fixed daily selection, taking in breakfast, lunch, and cake options across the day.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast draws the most consistent praise, with reviewers repeatedly calling out well-cooked eggs and the traditional breakfast, including one diner's "nice dippy yolks" and another who called their breakfast "one of the nicest breakfast I have had." Close behind, the Victoria sponge and a pot of tea for two get specific mentions alongside a club sandwich, and several reviewers describe the coffee and tea selection as strong, with prices called reasonable and value good. Staff come up constantly as friendly, welcoming and accommodating, with one lactose-free customer and another with a lost item both noting staff went out of their way to help. A small complaint surfaces over a sausage served deep-fried rather than grilled, and one reviewer flags a recent change banning dogs from entering, allowing them only to sit outside, calling the move "pernicious." Multiple reviewers say they return regularly and would recommend stopping in for lunch or "coffee, cake and a natter.

We visited a few times over last couple of weeks. Very nice food, coffee and reasonably priced too. Place looks very clean. Staff are very pleasant too. Highly recommended.
  • John Charles
A wonderful gem in Beighton village , serving excellent tea , coffee , cooked foods and cakes . Staff are friendly and attentive , making any visit enjoyable . Only concern is the owner has now banned dogs from entering ( Not quite sure why , but seems quite pernicious). So your dog is only allowed to sit outside now.
