About Sheffield Tap
Sheffield Tap is a pub in Sheffield at 1b Sheaf St, set in a former ticket office on the station, right by the main station entrance, with a further entrance via platform 1B. The Edwardian bar brews its own real ales on site, and the beers carry the pub's own label, including Hop on Board. Glazed tiles and leather banquettes line the main bar, and several rooms branch off it, including a large back room. The drinks list runs from cask ales to keg and craft beers, ciders, lagers, spirits and wines, with soft drinks and a selection of non-alcoholic beers alongside. The pub is open daily. Drinks cannot be taken onto the platform.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the beer range at this station pub, praising a wide spread of cask ales, craft beers, keg, cider and lager, including their own brewed onsite. One singles out Hop on Board, brewed under the tapped label, as fabulous, and another mentions a good non alcoholic lager. The platform location is the next big draw, with several calling it a convenient place to wait for a delayed train, and one saying they were never so happy to miss theirs. Close behind is the building, described as stunning, with multiple rooms branching off the main bar, a back room housing the brewery, and outdoor seating at the front. Service is called friendly and quick. Complaints are minor: one reviewer found a soft drink pricey, and another notes the pub can get busy, with calmer visits on weekday afternoons. One reviewer was stopped when they tried to take a drink onto the platform, and another adds that dogs are welcome.

“Sheffield Tap is a great place to meet up, especially if you're travelling by train, as it's conveniently located right on the station platform. It's an ideal spot to grab a drink before a journey or to catch up with friends. The pub itself is beautiful, with stunning Victorian-style décor that gives it plenty of character and creates a unique atmosphere. It's easy to see why it's become such a popular destination for both locals and visitors. The bar offers a wide range of real ales, along with plenty of other drinks to suit all tastes. Whether you're a real ale enthusiast or just looking for a relaxing pint, there's plenty to choose from. Overall, Sheffield Tap combines a fantastic location, impressive historic surroundings, and an excellent drinks selection. Highly recommended if you're passing through Sheffield Station or simply looking for a great pub with character. 🍺🚂⭐”

“Bit pricey for a coke (was working otherwise I would of had a beer). However there was an absolute fantastic rang of beers to choose from- actually quite alot. But generally the pub is clean and has a lovely atmosphere. Wi return on a day off.”

“Lovely brewery tap room next to the station. Four cask ales brewed on site and lots of other beers to choose from.”

“Gorgeous surroundings to try an excellent variety of craft ales. A definite stop if you're in Sheffield trying the city's beer culture. The buildings decor is worth a look on its own, 2 main rooms (make sure you go and have a look at the large backroom). Outdoor seating (outside main entrance) for when the sun shines. Obviously a place that can get busy due to it's location, if I can get there mid week, early afternoon (before or after a walk in the peaks) its been more calm and you can take in the surroundings at your leisure. Can access (I think on most week days) via entrance on platform 1B. The main entrance just out of the station off the main road, you'll see the outdoor space and door entrance (close to pedestrian crossing). Good start point to other beer locations. Close to industry tap, triple point brewery, rutland arms. Can easily get into town and visit such places like the the Old Shoe, Fargate. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you visit.”

“Wonderful brewpub on Sheffield station. Enjoyed brewed Hop on Board at £4.70, circa 200 THB. It's brewed onsite under the tapped label and was fabulous. Plenty of seating in the various rooms, also out front street side. You will be stopped if you try and take drinks onto the platform, or in my case leave your drink on the table and go outside just to check the platform number!!”
