Quick info
About Dog & Partridge
Dog & Partridge is an Irish pub on Trippet Ln in Sheffield city centre, with dark wood panelling, red upholstery and a snug to sit in. The taps pour Guinness alongside a range of Irish stouts and porters. The real ales are often independent and locally brewed, craft beers are also on the list, and a loyalty stamp card covers the real ales. The food menu includes spice bags, and Tayto crisps and a snack selection are on offer for something lighter. The pub also hosts quiz nights, Irish Bingo and live music. It takes walk-ins.

Customer Review Summary
Guinness is the draw, with reviewers repeatedly calling the pour the best they have had in the city or in years. Beamish and other Irish stouts and porters on tap earn praise close behind. Real ales and craft beers, often from local independent brewers, come next. Bar staff are described as friendly, and one reviewer says the person who poured their pint had great craic. The spice bag is the food reviewers single out most, alongside Tayto crisps and a snack selection, while one reviewer who had not eaten there said the plates looked very nice. Quiz nights, Irish Bingo and live music add to a lively, inclusive local feel in the snug. The one critical account describes a bar worker who asked a drinker and their friend for ID after serving them several times that night, and found her attitude off-putting. That reviewer also found one of the stouts meh. Several regulars finish on a loyalty stamp card for real ales.

“Always great for a pint in Sheffield, Guinness Beamish and Murphy's on tap, and always a lovely and inclusive atmosphere. The Irish pubs in Sheffield are all class and this is no exception! + Cannot go wrong with the spice bags”

“Great food, fantastic drinks (especially the stouts) and a consistently friendly atmosphere. For a city centre pub this is as close to a traditional lively ‘local’ as you’re going to find. Perfect evening out 👌🏽”

“Never eaten here so really can't rate it. But the food i have seen looks very nice. Brilliant bar staff very friendly and what can you say about the stouts apart from probably the best around. Great atmosphere and definitely worth a visit if you are around Sheffield”

“My favourite city centre pub, not even just in Sheffield, but anywhere! Whiling away a few hours in the snug is the best way to spend a day. The most welcoming venue, superb staff, brilliant range of beers (from the best selection of Irish Stouts outside of Ireland to a carefully chosen range of independent, often locally brewed real ales, and more!) and tasty food (including a great snack selection if you're not after a full meal). Quiz nights, Irish Bingo and live music events are always a real treat to attend.”

“Great trad Irish bar in Sheffield. Very very good Guinness - would say it’s one of the best places for Guinness in the city! Was served by Milo who poured a fabulous pint and has a great craic!”
