About Valentino’s | Italian Restaurant Bar & Grill
Valentino's | Italian Restaurant Bar & Grill is an Italian restaurant and bar at 19-20 N Railway St in Seaham. The large menu spans pizza, grill dishes and sharing plates, with pepperoni among the pizza options and carbonara among the pasta dishes. Potato skins are on the starter list. A two-course lunch special runs alongside the main menu, which gives daytime visitors a set option, and Sunday lunch is served too. The restaurant takes walk-ins. It has no car park of its own, so customers use the Aldi car park across the road.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return for the big portions and varied menu, with pasta and steak named as highlights, alongside the lunchtime special menu, scallops and king prawns, and a Sunday lunch one reviewer calls the best in Seaham. Several describe the food as fresh, well cooked and good value, and the staff as friendly and welcoming. The pepperoni pizza drew a complaint for being bland and too crispy, and one reviewer found the brownie overcooked and hard. Service is the recurring weak spot. Reviewers describe waits of around ten minutes to be greeted or seated, a dessert menu that never arrived, a drink that had to be requested twice, and a coke wrongly charged but quickly corrected. The harshest accounts describe chaos on busy days: one diner waited for starters and mains and received a lasagne cold in the middle and barely toasted garlic bread, while another found dry, hard pork and was bothered by staff interrupting the meal. Some also note that vegetarian dishes were not clearly labelled and that diners park in the Aldi car park across the road.

“Big, varied menu and good price for the amount of food you get. Now I can usually eat a lot but the portions were too big to the point I only ate 3/4 of the pasta and I was uncomfortably full. No one needs a bowl of pasta that big and it must waste food. Staff were lovely but some were obviously stressed and it took a long time to take our dessert order. Brownie was overcooked and hard too. Overall would go back but could be improved.”

“Food was not to bad,the problem was too many staff coming to our table every 5 minutes,we didn't have our meal in peace.2 staff were talking to customers while they were eating their dinners, another staff was sweeping round customers while they were eating.not very professional at all .so many staff asking if the food was ok,and asking would u like anything else while we were half through our meal ,at the finish I left the rest of my meal, the pork had seen better days ,very hard. And dry.never known a place like it,for the utter chaos, and too many staff interruptions to actually enjoy anything”

“Visited Valentino’s for the first time with my family and we choose from the lunch time special menu for £12.95 for 2 course..we started out with the potato skins and a garlic bread with was nice then got the main course we had pasta with carbonara sauce and a pasta with bolognaise sauce which was really nice but I had the pepperoni pizza which I was pretty disappointed with, very bland and too crispy..would I go back ? Yes but I would not have the pizza again mabe the pasta instead..it’s really nice inside with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff…”

“Was really looking forward to visiting as the reviews were seemingly good but was very disappointed. Had to wait 10 mins to be seated as the place was packed, with a very large party in. Staff running about everywhere and it just seemed like chaos. I said as much and a customer walked past me from the bar as I said that, and said that's exactly what it is, chaos. That should have been the 1st warning. We had our order taken quite quickly but then had to ask twice where our starters were after a 45 min wait. The food tasted good so we were ok with it. We the had to wait at least another 45 mins for our main and only then after I'd chased again. I had the lasagne and the plate was boiling hot - sadly the lasagne was still cold in the middle. The garlic bread had hardly been toasted and still looked semi-raw on one side. The noise was intolerable - we were almost shouting to hear one another and the best bit was a lad throwing up right outside the window we were sat at from the function above the restaurant, just as we were about to eat. We didn't say anything to anyone because there wasn't anyone around to say something too and not once were we asked how the food was. Had we been, we'd have been able to say something. Very disappointed. I'm sure it can be a lovely place but they are not equipped to deal with 5 large groups as well as smaller groups.”
