  “Customer service and logic was appalling. We were standing in the queue to buy 5 suppers and drinks and went into the sit down part in the place to use the toilet. I informed the girl with dark hair my family and I were in the takeaway part awaiting our large order. I was told I couldn't use the toilet, even though I was a customer but as we weren't in the sitting part, I couldn't use the toilet. Its the same business with the same funds going in the till. I was told I could go to the public toilet(this was closed and i advised this, so did one of the customers in the takeaway inform also that the public one was closed) . My sister in law had just also bought 3 suppers right before, and the other 5 family members were on their way up to the chippy. My dad and husband were still in the queue and again asked the staff, thinking someone must've made a mistake and again told despite now buying 8 suppers and drinks, was told no I couldn't use the toilet. The takeaway part was busy and there were several customers aggrieved and in our support how diabolical it was that a paying customers is not able to use the toilet. The food was just ok, so I'm not commenting on the food but an establishment that treats paying customers like that is disgusting. I wholeheartedly understand not letting random people use the toilet but paying customers of their business, that's not excusable and no other restaurant / cafe/ takeaway does that. Terrible customer service. Needless to say the other 5 family members went elsewhere. Customer Service is non existent.”

  “Absolutely disgusting customer service. They treat customers like something on their shoe. Think the staff need to attend charm school and the food was below average with dry chips. I'd go elsewhere if you want good food and a normal standard of customer service.”

  “First time I've been in here (lived locally for 7+ years now) sure wish I'd tried them sooner! Staff were superb, happy and friendly even though there were a couple of "Dopamine seeking kids" in our party, lovely young lady helped with everything we asked without fuss, without the usual "patronising, mid bite 'is everything ok with the meal? Bs", drinks and food orders were presented very quickly and efficiently (compared to most places I have eaten in England and Scotland, let alone this local area) My only complaint really has to be the lack of high chairs (to be fair I didn't ask for one, just didn't see one available) and the tiny plates, struggled to hold the adult meal I struggled to complete. Slightly larger plates, same food I'd be happier. Definitely best eat in chippy I've tried yet North of the Border!”

  “Excellent wee chippy we tried for the first time today. Not far from the sea front and a welcome hide from the bad weather. Ordered a fish tea(Excellent) portion of chips (massive) haggis(had better) and star of the show, The Eglinton Burger. Anytime I'm in Saltcoats again, I'm having that burger. Total chippy perfection. Bit of an old school place that is so good to visit. Prices are fantastic and the staff are totally on point. 100% recommended and will be back soon”
