Customer Review Summary
Coffee draws the most praise, with several reviewers calling it good and cheap, and one describing a hot latte served with a biscuit on the side. Food follows close behind, including a muffin with bacon, avocado and fried egg and a full English called absolute quality, while a toasted sandwich was judged reasonable. Reviewers repeatedly mention friendly, polite volunteers and staff, and many say it matters that proceeds go to the homeless charity. The room is described as spacious and relaxed, with sofas, a pool table and a quieter feel than chain cafes. Complaints are specific. One diner ordered a vegetarian breakfast and received bacon and a pork sausage, was told it was the vegetarian one, and found the scrambled eggs microwaved and inedible. Another called the coffee awful and says to be prepared for a longer wait than at other local cafes. One group's lunch was accompanied by a customer playing the piano.

“Been in a few times. Use to go next door. But Hooe cafe is much more pleasant staff, good prices and laid back. Definitely gave food next time, coffees taste great. While helping homeless & local community”

“I feel awful writing a negative review about an independent cafe raising money for charity. The concept is wonderful. But the food is not. They gave me a meat breakfast when I had ordered a vegetarian breakfast. When I asked about it, they lied and said it was the vegetarian one. With bacon. And a pork sausage. Avoid if you are vegetarian or vegan. Also; the scrambled eggs were microwaved and inedible.”

“Had the best coffee hot and a biscuit on the side, 2 large lattes £5.00 paid more for in one of the chain coffee shops . The staff was brilliant above and beyond so helpful and would recommend his coffee shops all day long.👍”

“Great for a coffee and good to know that the money paid goes towards charity. The cafe has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the staff allow you to relax in the cafe even after you've finished your drink or food. The menu has a good amount of choice.”

“I ordered a full English which amazing, absolute quality!! And the fact that profits go to feed the homeless is even more 👏. I would go there before anywhere else in Romford. Lovely people, God bless them 🙏”
