  “Breakfast is excellent. On my first visit the bacon was a bit too thick for my liking so the next time I asked for thinner and it was. I would like to see tinned tomatoes which are for me, much better for soaking into bread. Great service. I haven't tried pie and mash - it seems odd to have a Turkish restaurant serving that, but it looks fine.”

  “Traditional style Cafe serving traditional cafe style food. Staff are very friendly. I had two poached eggs on toast cooked to perfection, with a nice runny yoke. Coffee was excellent. Busy Saturday afternoon a complete mix of customers from young families, couples, people on their own, young lads, to a small group of older ladies.”

  “Visited just after 12pm on Thursday 9 May with my Grandmother, who eats there fairly regularly. Traditional café, serving all the standards (all day breakfast, omlette, jacket potatoes etc.), but also pie and mash. I had a make your own breakfast, which was delicious, whilst my Grandmother had a jacket potato with tuna, served with a side salad. We both had tea to drink. Based on the number of customers, clearly very popular. As it was a warm day we sat outside, which I was glad of as it was so busy inside I would have struggled with the noise of all the people (neurodiverse brain). The downside to being outside is that you do get smokers sat near you, but it wasn't too bad and you get a pleasant view of the high street. Staff are friendly and helpful and food is reasonably priced, with decent portions. The café is accessible, with a ramp inside as the section with the counter is on a higher level, but the door is manual, so if you didn't want to mess about you can just sit outside and staff will come to you. Didn't use the toilets, so no idea what they are like. The café is very close to Rayleigh Mount, so it's a good idea to take a stroll along there's afterwards to work off your meal!”

  “Traditional British cafe situated in Rayleigh high street, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere inside. Great pie and mash , cooked breakfast and a large menu of other choices including a kids selection.. Definitely a good choice of cafe if in Rayleigh”

  “We came all the way from Oxford to get a taste of pie and mash ( and to visit family) this did not disappoint! I had burger and chips and the burger was lovley, my husband had pie and mash and he loved it. We had our 2 young children with us who had sausage and chips which seemed to go down well, the staff where so friendly and welcoming would rate this place a 5* easily, great little cafe”
