  “This has got to be one of those places that you discover, and they never leave you the same. Tucked away on a small seaside high street, The Peterboat welcomes you with a vibrant and enchanting atmosphere, something you wouldn't expect when you take that turn onto the overpass towards Leigh-on-Sea High Street. Amazing food, amazing people, an amazing atmosphere, and an unforgettable charm. I came here for a family evening out, and I'll definitely be back, perhaps for the Sunday live music. Thanks for rhe hospitality.”

  “The food and drink here is amazing, we had a table with a view today, lovely! Our server today was Jasmine, she was really nice, and the service as quick. This is a place I’d recommend to anyone that is looking for a place with great food and chilled vibes.”

  “Nice view from the outside deck area over the water that slowly started trickling in when we sat down. The food was good and tasty. Fresh fish with chips and some lamb croquettes and prawns. It wasn’t table service but the lady that brought the food out for us was lovely as well as the bartenders.”

  “The Peterboat is a fantastic place to enjoy great food with beautiful waterfront views. The atmosphere is lively, relaxed, and perfect for lunch or drinks by the sea. Food was fresh, tasty, and well presented, with good portion sizes and quality ingredients. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient even during busy times. The outdoor seating area is a real highlight, especially on a sunny day, creating a wonderful dining experience. Prices felt fair for the location and quality offered. It is a popular spot for a reason and ideal for meeting friends or enjoying a casual meal. Highly recommended if you are visiting the area.”

  “Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The batter on the skate was disgusting, tough and was stuck into the fish itself. Possibly undercoated and over cooked. Tough and chewy and inedible, and I have had battered skate here before which was light and very tasty. The peas were lukewarm. The fish itself was nice. Due to this being a date night I did not want to complain and cause a fuss. I ordered the chocolate brownie to hopefully win it round, the top and bottom had a nice crisp but the middle seemed undercooked and pappy. Shame, might try their sister pub The Ship next time as it is smaller and less covers so food quality may be better.”

  “This is an excellent location for Leigh-on-Sea. It was my first time there and it is right in the old town. You can watch the sea while enjoying your food and drinks. The service and place are both great, however, food was disappointing. The chowder had mussels which were full of sand of beoken shell and this made it a poor experience. I should have chosen the fish and chips.”

  “The place is pretty and beautifully organised, however food wasn't the best. Onion rings apart of old oil taste you could not taste anything else. Fish and chips looked great but had better ones before (taste wise, I'm sure it wasn't cold or haddock but coated £23) and chips made in old oil. Weird practice of adding 10% service charge and it wasn't written anywhere on menu...”

  “The food is pretty amazing and the staff are quite friendly and helpful. I got two flat beers because I got two dodgy glasses. They mixed my vodka even though I asked for a separate mixer. I only wanted to try the vodka because it was flavoured. Completely ruined it for me would have given them 5 stars if it wasn't for that. But definitely a great place to visit most definitely.”

  “Such a vibe! We went to this one on a Sunday evening and it was such a wonderful unexpected find. There was live music, everyone was dancing, while enjoying a drink watching the sunset. For a minute it didn't feel like the UK. It was busy but the team were so welcoming and found a way to find us a table as quickly as possible. We went for a light snack and ended up having the Sunday roast. Best Sunday roast I've ever had which is crazy to say. 10/10 Recommend!”

  “First visit. Came for a meal. Located in the centre of the main road through Leigh-on-Sea. Traditional pub to the front with smart interior and restaurant to the side. Huge beer garden to the side. This place is very popular (supposed to be a great sea food restaurant, and it was) and does get very busy on sunny days, thankfully we had booked a table inside in advance. Seated in a nice little conservatory at the rear with nice breeze blowing through which was brilliant on such a hot day. The menu had a great choice of dishes at slightly high prices but worth paying a little extra for. We ordered three main courses to share. The chowder was stunning, a specialty of the restaurant, served in a large bread bun, the bread absorbed the flavours and sauce, gorgeous. The fish pie was faultless. The fish on the fish and chips was a tad watery, my only criticism.Drinks choice was good, at reasonable prices. The service was perfect, welcoming, friendly and helpful. This is a solid 5 star restaurant bordering on 6 stars. I would definitely recommend a visit here but make sure to book a table if coming at peak times or sunny days.”
