Customer Review Summary
The caveats concern food and cost. One reviewer found the meat balti without taste or spice and the grilled starter bland. Another said the lamb curry tasted not very fresh, and a third felt the chapaali kebabs held too much flour and resembled shami kebabs. Several call it pricier, with smaller portions, though some feel the experience justifies it. Mains were slow when busy. One family left with lollipops, and a staff member fetched a red one for a sister who wanted that colour.

“Had lunch with 4 friends on a Sunday. Car parking attendant on site. The venue was really nice and clean. Excellent friendly service. For starters we had a portion of Lamb Chops, Chapaali Kebab and Chicken Wings. The Chapaali Kebabs were not Chapaali Kebabs in my opinion. They also contained far too much flour in them, which was disappointing and were more akin to Shami Kebabs. (See photos) I did feed that back to our waiter on the day. The other two starters were spot on. For our mains , we had a Lamb Handi, which was ok but my mates really loved it. We also had Keema and Potatoes which was really tasty. The Chapatties and Rotis were excellent. There was a wedding function on the day, which made things a bit noisey but on the other hand added a bit to the atmosphere. I would certainly recommend this place, if you not been here before. As we were out of town we were offered some free Dhesi Chai, which we politely declined.”

“We went to Bradford from Birmingham and decided to have dinner here. Really glad we did we were a family of 5 with a 9 year old. Their customer service from walking into the restaurant to leaving is exceptional. The staff at the door were very welcoming and really engaged with my niece. Our waiter Shoaib was excellent, again really engaging with my niece and said to her if she finished her food she will get ice cream. Now shes a really fussy eater but that bribe worked and she managed to finish most of her food and she got her ice cream!. He even interacted with our Mum in our own language explaining everything to her. And my niece almost got her self a job there as she didn't want to pay the bill. 🤣. The banter Shoaib had with her was funny. On the way out my niece got a lollipop and my sister wanted one (a big child) so she got a couple too. We decided to take some pictures on the swing at the entrance and whilst we were waiting for a family to finish taking theirs. i nicked my sisters red lollipop (as a joke and as siblings do), lol and she went it was the only red one i had with a ☹️. The lady at the door heard her went and got her a red one. The whole interaction with everyone from start to finish was amazing. Now Birmingham has a number of nice restaurants but we have never experienced customer service like this. To the food, we ordered a mixture of starters, 2 mains and the family naan. All the food was cooked to perfection and was really lovely. Price wise i would say its not on the cheap side but it also isn't on the expensive side either. And for the experience it is well worth it and you don't mind paying that. When we are in the area again we will definitely be coming here again. Thank you for the amazing service to all the staff and especially to Shoaib. Good food and good service what more can a person ask for. 🙂”

“Review: Lala (Family Trip with 14 People) We went to Lala as we’re from London and wanted somewhere special to visit for a family trip. In total, 14 of us went, and it was a great experience from start to finish. Food Really, really good—every dish we ordered was **10/10. Portions* were smaller compared to other places, but they were *spot on** and well balanced. Value & Atmosphere It was more expensive** than some of the other options. We felt the decor and overall vibe made it worth it—everything looked beautiful, and the place was very clean. Service & Group-Friendly The service was great throughout. It was perfect for big groups, and everything ran smoothly even with our larger party. We’ll definitely go again—it really was a memorable meal for the whole group.”

“Service was 10/10. The staff are kind and very informative. The restaurant itself and the decor is stunning and the vibe is very homely/chilled. The food on the other hand is not the best for the price you pay. Maybe it was a one off but the meat balti had no taste/no spice. The chicken tikka balti was okay. The garlic naan was good. The lamb chops were the best thing there but not the best I’ve tried for the price. The grilled starter was very bland. Only thing good were the lamb chops. The food did take time to come out especially the mains but it was busy so makes sense. Hopefully on my next visit things are better as other reviews have been very good for this place.”
