  “Fantastic Fish & Chips! One of the most flavoursome chippies in the area, always got a huge queue which is a fantastic sign and if there is a wait - it's well worth it. Recently tried ordering in advance for collection that evening. I accidentally ordered something not served in the evening but Tino called and rectified my order quickly and upon arriving my food was being prepared fresh ready for my collection time.”

  “Visited here a while ago.....food was good tbf but the attitude of who I assume to be the Owner/Manager was awful so we will not return. We ordered fish,chips etc and a couple of sides of curry,peas,gravy.I paid but soon realised as I waited in the very busy shop that I'd been charged more than expected.I politely queried the cost.The issue was that I'd been charged for large sides but when I said that wasn't what I'd ordered,I was met with a very abrupt "that's because you didn't ask for regular/small and we serve large as standard here".This was all done very loudly and whilst they corrected my bill and refunded the difference,it wasn't without sighs and eyerolls which I found awkward and embarassing.NEVER have I been to any establishment,or worked in one where 'Large' on the menu is standard.......what's the point in calling it large? 🤔🤔 Even McDonald's ask before upselling as I believe it's illegal so Trading Standards would possibly be interested in that one. Then just as I thought the food may make up for the awful attitude,a couple were getting their order and as they left,he announced they'd travelled from Blackpool to try it but they didn't even grt so much ss a "thankyou for travelling so far,hope you enjoy it". To sum up,you could find me the tastiest place to eat in the world but if their attitude stinks then they won't get my hard-earned cash so we tried it once but won't return.”

  “Very good, portions were huge. Offered small, medium or large, went in the middle with medium but it was a huge portion. Very fairly priced and very tasty. 3 choices of curry sauce 👍. Will most definitely go again 👍”

  “Its ok. Got fish and chips on spec from here. One fish was dry burnt snd hardly any actuak fish in it and the other was cooked very well. The 1st was prob kept warm. But we shouldnt had been given it. Fish is expensive now. Sadly we wont be returning”

  “Service was super fast and the staff are polite. It was busy when I arrived with 8 people in front of me , however, I was in and out in 12 minutes. Had two fish and chips one with pushy peas. The cod was excellent with the fish being firm and tasty in a light batter. The the chip are good. The mushy peas where very watery and this was reflected in the watery taste to the mushy peas. I had asked for extra salt and vinegar but it tasted like the normal amount”

  “First time trying tonight, drove past many times and never realised it was there until I recently saw that they won the award! Food was excellent. The peppercorn sauce is a now a necessity when I get a chippy! Chips were perfect. I have one gripe! Very minor but would love the gravy to be nice and thick as it is too watery to hold on to the chip, will be back very soon to try this garlic chicken I missed out on!”

  “Really Really disappointed in this place, Drove 30 minutes after seeing they won an award, didnt mind waiting 20 minutes to be served because you expect that if the food is good and the place is busy.. Sadly when I got back to the car and tried my food, I soon realised I was really unhappy with it. My Chips were crunchy , all of them. I had to use the curry sauce to make them moist.. but sadly they were very dry and the outer shell was so crispy and the inside of the chip had all but vanished.. it was like eating shells.. or frozen chips? ( even though theyre not frozen chips ) The fish, ( I ordered a large cod ) - Definitely was not Large, or what I would consider Large from other chippys , Batter was flavourless, fish was flavourless.. I only managed a few chips and a few bites of the fish and sadly had to bin it.. - Who knows, maybe they was so busy that the quality was just lacking, or maybe my standards differ to everyone elses? - I was at George-a-Greens last weekend and others that are well renowned over the years , and to say this has won "best chippy in England" is astonishing to me. Swan Chippy in Southport is so much nicer in my opinion, and is probably one of the best in the north west along with Atkinsons in Morcambe. However - What I will say is : They were very busy, so they're obviously doing something right.. the reviews are good, so again - maybe I just had a very bad experience? I am not one to leave reviews but when you're winning awards and when you're making the journey for the food, you expect it to be atleast 'decent' , sadly, mine was not. Staff all seemed really nice and we're busy working away. I left feeling like it was one of the worst chippys I'd had, almost as if It had been bought from one of the foreign chippys on Blackpool sea front.. however, Please check it out for yourself, Maybe I got unlucky.”

  “Popped in whilst working in the area, ordered the Lite Bite fish, chips and curry sauce, £4.50, great value and the food was delicious, chips are some of the nicest I've had in a long while, the fish was a good size and spicy curry sauce complimented it well. Only had to wait a short while for the fish, gentleman who served was pleasant so all in all a good experience fora first visit, local residents are very lucky to have a great, traditional chippy in the area, I'll definitely be back.”
