About Tipsy Chef (Bar & Restaurant)
Tipsy Chef (Bar & Restaurant) sits on Lancaster Road in Preston and operates as a walk-in restaurant with table service, no reservation system in place. The kitchen centres on burgers and chips, a focused format that runs from order through to the table. Dogs are welcome inside, a practical fit for a casual Preston stop. Seats fill on a first-come basis, and waits are common even for booked groups, so arriving early in the evening tends to make the difference between a quick seat and a long stand. Multiple servers run the floor during service. The room doubles as a bar, with drinks poured alongside the food order. It is a single-room format on Lancaster Road, close to the centre of Preston.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the front-of-house team at Tipsy Chef, repeatedly naming the same servers and describing them as attentive, accommodating, and quick to check in on tables. That warmth from staff carries nearly all of the positive reviews, and many guests say it is the reason they plan to return. Tied closely behind is the food itself, which several reviewers describe as tasty and well executed, with one diner saying the meal alone would have been five stars. One longer, contrasting account stands apart from the rest: a walk-in party reports waiting well over an hour for burgers and chips, describes the kitchen as rushed, and says the experience was soured further by being led to a table without warning rather than told of the delay. They note the manager eventually refunded their drinks but offered no apology, and they place the blame on management rather than the staff. Their steak was subpar. Most reviewers describe a smooth, friendly evening, while that single visit captures the trade-off a walk-in can face.

“Always loved the food at tipsy chef. Francesca, Dylan and Toby were great! The only criticism I have is that the tipsy platter was waaaaay too big for 2 people to eat and quite expensive. Will definitely go for a smash burger next time as they’re delicious 🤤”

“Arrived 8:15pm, never been before. Noisy atmosphere and stressed staff, but you can't help that at all when they're clearly improperly managed. I was initially impressed with the digital table checker, showing which tables needed attendence first, although this failed to hold up in practice. We didn't book, which is of course our own mistake, however we waited over an hour for our food. (2 burgers and chips). I think many of you would agree that it is a little snidey to lead you into believing you have a table, only to wait so long. The table of 6 next to us had sat down at half 7, waiting well over 1.5 hours for their meals, and they had booked! Food would have been 5 stars, but the steak on our chips was subpar and evidently rushed. You get what you pay for and you reap what you sow. We were offered our next round of drinks for free, but we were kindly refunded on the drinks we were yet to pay for which would be included in the final meal price. We were compensated for our time, but not given an apology of any sort. At one point, around 10 minutes before food arrived, a male staff member asked us if everything was okay? Obviously not? I want to make it completely clear that the service we receieved was of no fault of any staff member other than management. We would have much preferred to be told that we would have to wait over an hour to eat so that we could go elsewhere, than be lead to believe we would recieve, at the very least, on par service. A pretty first impression when i've only ever heard good things, i'm sure most of the time it is a lovely restaurant, but we seemed to get unlucky the one time it counts. Not what you want after a 14 hour shift. Won't be returning 🤷♀️.”
