Quick info
About Carouse Rainhill
Carouse Rainhill is a tapas restaurant and bar at 2-4 Station St in Prescot, with live music playing alongside the food and drink. The menu covers both traditional and modern tapas, served as small plates that are ordered several at a time. The kitchen sends out pork belly, a bread fondue and cod tacos. Cocktails come from the same bar, so a single venue handles dinner and drinks. The team also hosts private parties and public events for groups, and a mid week deal is on offer.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food and the friendly staff, with plates shared between a group, such as six between two or five per pair, described as plenty. One reviewer singles out a bread fondue thing, and another highlights how well the kitchen handled a group member's food tolerances. The mid week deal is called excellent value, and the decor is called lovely. Portion size divides opinion: one says the plates were quite small even for tapas and wishes they had ordered four or five, while another found the pork belly ok and the wings tasting like a fryer, with cod tacos packed full of salad. Noise is the most repeated complaint. Reviewers say everyone was shouting and conversation was difficult even in the quiet corner, and one suggests acoustic panels on the ceiling. One party of eight had food arrive late, after others had nearly finished, and was handed a bar bill and a bottle of wine that were not theirs. One reviewer was turned away at the door over Tommy Hilfiger shorts.

“Oh my good god, what an absolutely amazing meal. We had 6 plates between 2 of us. Everything was freshly made, hot and gorgeous. Staff were lovely and very friendly. Very reasonably priced. Can't complain about anything.”

“Excellent food, and particularly attentive to some food tolerances on one of our group. We picked 5 plates per pair which was more than enough. Excellent service. Very Clean. Unfortunately the noise just meant we struggled to hear anyone. We were already in the quiet corner, but I would suggest they need some acoustic panels on the ceiling to reduce the noise reflection. It looks like they have tried to address this with wall pictures, but unfortunately it is not enough. Everyone there was shouting at each other. If they could sort this, I'd move my recommendation to 4+ stars.”

“Hi given them all a 1 star due to the bouncer on the door not being able to tell diffrence between a sports brand and a luxury brand. Tho bouncer wouldn't let me in because I was wearing tommy hilfiger shorts which is an outrageous. And puts me off going there to be honest.”

“1st time at this restaurant was in a party of 8 my food arrived late and everyone else had nearly finished we were presented with a bar bill that was clearly not ours. Final bill also had a bottle of wine on which was still not ours Very noisy restaurant so don't expect to have a conversation with anyone Parking difficult.”
