Customer Review Summary

Seafood leads the praise, with reviewers singling out a seafood pasta full of mussels and prawns, a crab linguine balanced between spice and sweetness from cherry tomatoes, and spaghetti alla vongole. Starters of calamari with creamy garlic sauce and lemon, and prawns in butter and garlic sauce, also draw mention. Close behind is the pizza, with one diner describing an enormous ortolana with fresh olives and artichoke, and another noting an affogato whipped up on request though it was not on the menu. Reviewers repeatedly describe friendly, welcoming staff, and several call the atmosphere authentic and warm. A few mention repeat visits, and one notes how welcoming the staff were to their dogs. Praise is nearly uniform, though one lunch diner reports a calzone that was smaller than before and burnt underneath, and a margherita that was a bit overdone underneath. The waiter saw the burnt pizza left on the plate and took it off the bill.

“I have always loved La Lupas but unfortunately today my friend and I went for lunch for her 50th and I had the calzogne and definitely gone down in size and it was all burnt underneath. My friend had the margarita and hers was abit overdone underneath but managed to eat it. I didn't like to make a fuss but the waiter could see my burnt pizza left on plate and he kindly took it off the bill. Hopefully next time it will be be better.”

“Absolutely fabulous food and service. It’s a little (2 minutes) walk down from the cruise meeting point which is full of hustle and bustle on a weekend, and certainly worth it. I had the spaghetti alla vongole which was absolutely delightful, with an affogato for dessert (not on the menu but they whipped one up for me no problem). My partner had the ortolana pizza which was absolutely enormous, with a very flavoured and seasoned tomato base and fresh olives and artichoke. We are not local to the area but if we ever venture back this way we will absolutely come again!”
