  “I can’t recommend The Ghurka Lounge highly enough. Service - between the three of us there is a vegan, a vegetarian and a carnivore. We were ordering a take away but after seeing the menu there was limited Vegan options and so I rang the restaurant. The lady on the phone was so helpful and gave us loads of options where the chef could swap out ingredients for vegan alternatives which broadened the menu enormously. Our food was ready to pick up half an hour later. I picked it up in an amazing take away bag that is designed to keep it warm and secure in the car. Food - I can honestly say it’s one of the best Asian food we’ve tasted, highly recommend!”

  “Well what can I say.. wow! We was across in Peterborough for the weekend for a christening and before going home the next morning we thought we would pop out for an indian, we are massively into indian food and cool at home once or twice a week, i have Indian work colleagues and they help me understand spices. Ive never tried the Ghurka style, I know about them but never tried their food. When i called the women on the phone mentioned it was a Theme night with music, it didn't bother us so we said yes, i wasn't sure what to expect ive never been so I wouldn't know. When we arrived we was greeted at the door and showed to our table. The venue was packed and the atmosphere was buzzing. We sat down with the menu where they explained its a set starter and its a verity of foods Gurka style. My wife prefers Gluten free so we requested that, they explained everything is gluten free amazing! Great start. I had a Gurka Larger and it was loverly like cobra not so sweet or tangy. Then Elvis only walks into the building well his Indian Brother 🤣 we was all laughing and giggling but actually he was very good amazing infact very quirky and er different but yeah it worked he was fun a d cheeky and got the place going, the music was so loud I was glad we had ordered the food because not a bloody chance doing it now, the roof was coming off, people up dancing and joining in it was great. Food! Oh yeah the food, sorry forgot it was a restaurant for a second, I had the goat curry never had goat before I like lamb so give it a go, it came well presented nice and hot the flavours was intense and was just enough spice definitely a kick but not to much you cant taste anything else. Infact everything we tried was well done, we have eaten a lot of indian food and this is definitely in my top 3. Elvis left the building 🤣 and we had time to talk about the food order drinks and a desert for my girls. Elvis enters the room, place goes nuts abd it's a full on party until we was ready to leave we didn't stay until the end because we had a long day in 34c and just wanted to relax before going home the next morning. We left a nice tip for the waitress and waiter, waved good by to Elvis they even open the door as you leave and said good bye to us. What a truly magical evening full of entertainment with the most friendly welcoming staff you could ever want to meet. If you after fun action packed crazy atmosphere with the mose delicious food at reasonable prices go here 💯 Thank you Gurkha Lounge we will be back ahh ha ha 🥳👍❤️”

  “Visited this amazing restaurant twice now, and contacted them before arriving to see if they could cater for my love of very hot curries and they had no problems with making me a Phall curry and it tasted beautiful even though a nice very hot temperature haha. Also had some of there meat samosa and they were amazing for a starter and also tried the Sheesh kebabs, anything you order here tastes amazing. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely and the staff are very friendly and I can't remember the ladies name who was our server on the first visit, but she has amazing customer service attitude and a very warm smile. Looking forward to visiting again when I'm back in Peterborough, and especially trying the Phall curry with the chillies from Nepal ❤️❤️❤️❤️ This restaurant is the best restaurant I have visited in a long time”

  “Very welcoming and attentive staff, varied menu with Gerkha specialities. Everyone within my group admired the cooking and taste of the food. Highly recommended. For me personally, the Mango Lassi, Special Butter Chicken and the Gerkha rice and Gerkha Nann was just exceptional.”

  “Busy Friday night (27th March) Amazing food, fantastic atmosphere. Staff were amazing. A big shout to the young waiter who served us. He’s a real a credit to your team. We had a selection of curry, breads, rice and chips and everything was spot on! Cooked to perfection. The chicken melted in your mouth. They also had a good selection of non alcoholic options which was great”

  “Came here with my boyfriend. Absolutely terrific service, the staff were very friendly, attentive and the food was phenomenal 👌 I would definitely come back here 😀 the himalayan salt candle really added to the atmosphere. I ended up getting a takeaway box for some of my curry because it was that filling. I will definitely come back here again!”

  “Super easy to book a table and park, I was greeted by several staff, and the restaurant was busy and getting loud. I was seated near the bar which was good. The mixed grill was lovely but needs to be served with a sauce and the onions need caramelising more before hitting the skillet, the meet was lovely and the paratha was nice. I tried The carrot dessert and another one. The staff were amazing and faced there challenges in the busy Friday night atmosphere, a tray of drinks bit the dust next to me and they were sure to check I was fine. They work well as a team and I was very happy. Thank you.”

  “Very good food and superb service, varied menu with some very different options to the usual Indian restaurant offerings. Recommend the goat curry. Very pleasant, efficient, helpful, courteous warm and friendly staff. Seamless service. Very high standard but also pricey.”
