Customer Review Summary
Friendly, quick service is what reviewers mention most, with several describing swift, efficient staff and a warm welcome, alongside food they call good and reasonably priced. Among the dishes named, one diner praises a Caribbean jerk style skewer with skinny fries and a burger as great value, another singles out the mac and cheese and a really good sticky toffee pudding, and one found ordering by phone super simple. Wines and spirits get a good selection, though one reviewer calls the cocktails not great. One reviewer says a few suggest booking ahead on busy days. The criticism centers on consistency. One reviewer says the food was nice but nowhere close to sizzling, another had a burger that was charred in places, and one reports a long wait to be acknowledged and seated. One diner's mixed grill arrived cold while a friend's chicken burger wrapped in bacon and cheese was hot, nobody asked how it was, and most of it went home for the dog.

“Nice pub with good food. Can get busy sometimes, so I recommend you book a table in advance, lots of parking and also has a ramp at entrance for people with disabilities.”

“Went in today as Marmalade Pot was closed. We got the last table, restaurant completly full. Ordered a Classic Mixed grill and a Chicken burger wrapped in bacon and cheese. I saw 3 front of house staff. Our food was brought by the girl who served us at the bar. My food was cold, not hot, not warm but cold. My friends meal was hot. I did not complain and no- one asked if the food was ok. I took most of my food home for my dog. The staff are lovely but I do not know how one meal was hot and the other cold but I guess that's up to the kitchen staff. The restaurant was barely warm on a very cold day. We used to go to Lounsdale a lot but then discovered and preferred Marmalade Pot and we go every week. We will go back to Marmalade Pot next week”
