About La Croissanterie Cafe
La Croissanterie Cafe is a cafe and breakfast spot on Old High Street in Oxford, where a Moroccan breakfast arrives with Moroccan mint tea alongside croissants and cakes. Moroccan cooking leads the menu, with some European items and baking from the kitchen, and coffee runs beside the tea. The family who own the place serve customers themselves. Inside, the room is small and narrow, with tables set close together and walls covered in decoration and pieces of history. Tables outside give the option of eating in the open air, and a step-free entrance keeps the cafe reachable for visitors with mobility needs. There are no bookings, so customers walk in and order at the counter, and anything from the counter can be bought to go for eating off site. It sits on the main shopping street, around the corner from the supermarket, and opens Tuesday to Saturday, closed Mondays and Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Moroccan tea is what reviewers return to most, with the mint tea singled out alongside cake, including an almond cake and a lemon and orange cake that one couple both had to try. Close behind are the baked goods, where one reviewer praises the freshly baked cinnamon rolls and croissants and plans to come back for the quiche and pie. The Moroccan breakfast gets a mention too, and one diner calls the olives the best they have had. Several describe the owners as a warm, welcoming family business, with walls full of history and a cozy feel, and a few say they would choose it over the big coffee chains. The main caveat is space: one reviewer says the inside is narrower than other tea shops, with tables set closely, so it may not suit young children who run around. One regular recalls the owners keeping an eye on her son while she used the loo during her pregnancy and breastfeeding months.

“Popped in here randomly and it was gorgeous, had a lovely meal and Moroccan tea. Best olives I’ve ever had too!! The owners were super lovely”

“Best Moroccan tea shop in Oxford. Without being pretentious, this little tea shop brings a bit of colour and sunshine in this quiet corner of Oxford. The mint tea and almond cake I had were superb, and the service was good and quick. Spoiler: the space inside is narrower than other tea shops and the tables and other things in the cafe are perfectly set up so this might not be suitable for young children who tend to be mobile and running around.”

“A Truly Special Place in Oxford La Croissanterie wasn’t just a café for me, it was a refuge, a warm and welcoming space during one of the most important times of my life. When I first arrived in Oxford, the owners were among the very first people to make me feel at home. Throughout my pregnancy and later during my breastfeeding months, they were incredibly supportive and understanding. It went far beyond good tea/coffee and delicious pastries — it was genuine care. I will never forget how she would kindly keep an eye on my son when I needed to use the loo, or how generous and attentive they always were with him. That level of true kindness and thoughtful care is something rare and precious. La Croissanterie is not just a shop. It is a place built on heart, integrity, and community. I am deeply grateful for everything they have done for us, and I hope this beautiful family business continues to receive the support it truly deserves.”

“Interesting small place. A nice surprise! Ended ordering the Moroccan breafast. I will definitely return to taste other brunch dishes. Felt cozy and warm with some history on the walls. Not too pricey. I would skip the local coffee chains and check this family business.”

“Such a warm and welcoming Cafe, the people there were inviting and had a lovely presence about them, the food was fantastic, simple but done very well (always the best) the lemon and orange cake was delicious and both me and my partner had to have some (can recommend) Will absolutely go here again and might have to be our regular place!”
