About Charm Cafe

Greek pastries including ekmek kataifi sit alongside the cakes at Charm Cafe, a cafe on James Wolfe Rd in Oxford, giving the counter a sweet range beyond the usual slice. The food menu runs to paninis, some of them toasted, plus sandwiches, omelettes, baked potatoes and pancakes, with vegan options across the offering. Drinks cover coffee in several forms, from flavoured iced lattes in caramel or vanilla to frappés, and there are milkshakes, hot chocolate, chai latte and herbal teas for anyone skipping coffee. Seating is split into several areas, with sofas among them, and tables outside suit customers who want to eat in the open air. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without a kerb or stair. No booking is taken, so customers simply walk in and order, and the cafe opens Tuesday to Sunday with Mondays closed. A full English breakfast is not part of the menu.

Customer Review Summary

Cakes and pastries draw the most praise at this café, with reviewers naming a shared ekmek kataifi, a caramel chocolate heart and carrot cake, and a few singling out the Greek pastries. Coffee comes close behind, described as good and tasty, with an iced caramel or vanilla latte, a hot chocolate and a herbal tea also mentioned. Paninis, including toasted ones, and a milkshake round out what people order, and one reviewer notes vegan options. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, with one reviewer describing quick service and another feeling made very welcome. Reviewers like the modern decor, the sofas and the many different seating areas, and one calls the place clean and tidy. The main reservation comes from one reviewer who found it odd that the waitress sat in the corner chatting, thought the chai latte only okay, and noted there was no full English breakfast. Several reviewers say they plan to return, and one has been coming for over a year, working through most of the paninis and cakes.

“Been coming here for over a year . Such a lovely cafe with amazing staff. Always so nice, helpful and quick delicious service. I usually have a caramel or vanilla ice latte but also have tried most of the paninis and cakes! So good! It is a place I would recommend everyone to try out! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
  • Alice Summers
“The waitress sits in the corner and chats I guess because the café is quite quiet? I find it a bit strange, too casual maybe? Otherwise the decor is quite nice. The drink (chai latte) was okay, and sandwiches look okay but I didn't have any. No full English breakfast.”
