Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to home-cooked Polish food in generous portions, with the beetroot soup (served with hard-boiled egg and cream) praised by enthusiastic and critical diners alike. Pierogi, goulash, beef roulade and a "Polish coleslaw" draw compliments, and the homemade apple pie and cakes are singled out for dessert. Several describe friendly, welcoming servers, food that arrives quickly, and prices they call reasonable or great value. One diner says the cooking reminded them of meals in Kraków and Warsaw. One reviewer gives a sharply different account. They found the meat dishes, including goulash and pork, share similar sauces lacking flavour, and the schnitzel crispy on one side and soggy on the other. They also describe a damp smell and poor ventilation, and report feeling sick all night after eating there. Another diner found the schnitzel tender and flavourful, and describes a lunch plate that came with broccoli, carrots, potatoes, salad, coleslaw and pickled beetroot.

“What a fantastic culinary experience! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, incredibly fresh, and clearly prepared with great care and attention to detail. Every dish tasted as if it had been made from scratch using high-quality ingredients. The homemade cakes and desserts were simply outstanding – some of the best we’ve had in a long time. On top of that, the service was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel right at home. This is a truly wonderful place that celebrates authentic Polish cuisine with passion and excellence. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our visit and cannot recommend it highly enough. If you’re looking for amazing food, a friendly atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit.”

“I was really excited to visit as I love Polish food and had only just discovered this place. They also have a great offer on three days a week where, if you order two mains, the cheaper one is half price, which is fantastic. At first the restaurant looked a bit empty, which made us slightly hesitant, but the interior was clean, nicely decorated, and had pleasant background music, so it didn’t feel like an issue. The servers were all really friendly. We tried the Zimny Talerz and the soup of the day (beetroot soup with hard-boiled egg and cream), and honestly it was one of the best soups I’ve had in Nottingham. For mains we ordered a few different dishes and nothing disappointed. The pierogi were spot on, the “Polish coleslaw” was superb, and everything was genuinely delicious. The waitresses were also very helpful, attentive, and welcoming throughout. I 100% recommend Ania's Polish Restaurant and will definitely be coming back again. The food really reminded me of the Polish food I had in Kraków and Warsaw.”

“Fantastic fresh quality and home-cooked food in generous portions, relaxed atmosphere, and lovely friendly staff. Their homemade apple pie is deliciously scrumptious!! Restaurant was full so you will definitely need to reserve your table. We spent £61 for a 3 course meal for 2 with 4 drinks, very reasonably priced. We are already looking forward to another visit.”
