About Alchemilla
Alchemilla is a fine dining restaurant in Nottingham, on Derby Rd at number 192, set in a converted coach building with exposed brick, greenery and glass light wells. Dinner is a tasting menu of seven or 12 courses, and a wine pairing is offered alongside it. The menu lists 20 dishes, including Foie Gras, Oxtail and Hash Brown. Meals run roughly three hours or longer, so the evening is built around a single long sitting. Before each visit, the team contacts guests to check dietary requirements, and vegetarian and seafood-intolerance menus are accommodated. Reservations are required. Parking nearby is time-limited.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the mushroom dish, called a stunning standout in one tasting menu and loved by another, with the desserts also described as incredible. Close behind are the seven-course and twelve-course tasting menus, where reviewers name a scallop special, pigeon, and raw prawn with green strawberry that surprised one guest. The bread is called the best some have had, and the wine pairing draws praise, with the ice wine a favourite and one reviewer won over on dessert wines. Staff are described as friendly, chatty, attentive and knowledgeable, explaining each dish without intruding. Criticism is minor and rare: one reviewer finds local parking difficult because spaces are time limited, and another jokes that being served scraps from the bread making left them wanting more. Several note the team called ahead to check dietary needs, and one party received a different menu for a seafood intolerance.

“An absolutely awesome experience from before the start until the end! Calling the restaurant your call is picked up obscenely quickly and with such a lovely and helpful demeanor. Growing up incredibly near to the area of the restaurant - I had to finally visit and it did not disappoint and I'm definitely likely to return when I'm in the city! Each and every person working there held incredibly high standards and by God knew their stuff. Nothing felt rehearsed or forced when being served - The servers were happy to share opinions and have a brief chat about the food and wine which is always nice to bring them into the experience as a whole. It's been some time since I visited but after visiting a restaurant with the same accolade this evening and feeling compelled to leave a review I had to balance it with this. Pictured is the one savory dish I've not been able to stop talking about and wrap my head around when trying to dupe it - and a dessert that rivalled any dessert I've ever had. My only (non serious) critique is to not tell me you're serving me scraps from bread making process (best bread I've ever had) for sustainability purposes if you don't serve me and my mate the whole entire hoggit 😅 Thank you! I'll be back next year.”

“Visited Alchemilla for the second time this evening to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and it was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was beautifully crafted and seemed to surpass the last. We opted for the seven-course tasting menu and also added the scallop special, which was outstanding. The service was impeccable, attentive without feeling intrusive and each dish was thoughtfully explained by staff. Combined with the restaurant’s warm and cosy atmosphere, it made a very memorable evening. We spent three wonderful hours there and enjoyed every moment. Without a doubt, it’s the best meal I’ve had to date and I already can’t wait to go back ✨”

“This visit made a few Firsts for me... First time I've spent That Much on a meal... (special occasion)... First time I've had a meal of 12+ courses; First Martini; First time eating Hoggett; First time eating raw prawn - I nearly refused that but it was excellent, combined with green strawberry (pic 1). In fact, I was surprised by flavour combinations many times through this meal. It really was an experience. My fellow dinner's extensive dietary restrictions were carefully accommodated too, with a pre-meal call to check details.”

“The 7 course meal was absolutely Devine. I loved the mushrooms, and the desserts are incredible. My partner loved the pigeon. The restaurant staff were kind enough to accommodate a different menu for my partner who has seafood intolerance. A little surprise were the selections of cocktails.”

“Totally awesome place. Delicious food. Attentive and knowledgeable staff that made serving the food almost a performance in itself. A great experience of fine dining that lasted almost 3 hours. Even before the day, we were contacted by the team to check dietary requirements. Only drawback is that parking locally isn’t particularly easy (as spaces are time limited).”
