Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is what most reviewers come for, with cooked and vegetarian breakfasts served all day, described as good in portion size and quick to arrive. Close behind are a jacket potato called delicious, a Sunday dinner whose beef is said to melt in the mouth, and an afternoon tea with unlimited hot drinks that one pair found generous. Several praise the friendly staff, and others describe a lovely, spacious, relaxed room where they could work on a laptop. Complaints centre on noise, value and consistency. Two reviewers found the cafe loud, one citing radio at 7am. One felt a large veggie breakfast was small for the cost and left them hungry. Another got scrambled eggs with little egg on dry, hard toast. A different reviewer reports a snotty egg and uncooked tomato on visits when only one cook seemed to get it right. Toilets were called very clean, and one regular of a couple of years says they have never had cause to complain.

“We have been coming here for a couple of years now without complaint. The staff are great and really friendly. The food is lovely and decent amounts. The Sunday dinners blow toby carvery out the water, the beef on a Sunday dinner is so tender it just melts in your mouth.”

“I took the opportunity to have some lunch whilst my windscreen was being repaired in another unit. Spoilt for choice with the menu but settled on a jacket potato, which was delicious. Was able to sit and work for an hour, but then I had to up camp at 3pm as they were closing, and had to sit in the autowindscreen waiting room. Would definitely visit again if I'm in the area.”

“Came at 7am for a quiet breakfast. No such chance! Why do we in Britain equate loud radio with a perfect atmosphere? I had scrambled eggs on toast which didn't have much egg to stretch across both slices of toast which was dry and hard work. So, I'm still in search of a quiet place to spend time. Luckily, I came alone and didn't have to struggle to hear anyone else. It felt very much like the atmosphere was created for staff while they work and not for the comfort of customers.”
