About KC's Cafe and cob shop
Flowers displayed outside mark KC's Cafe and cob shop, a cafe in Gedling, Nottingham that doubles as a flower shop, so customers can pick up a bunch alongside a coffee. The kitchen serves breakfasts, including a vegetarian and a smaller version, freshly filled rolls and home-made cakes, with daily specials added and dietary requests catered for. Barista coffee and pots of tea come alongside. Saturdays through the year bring themed bistro evenings built around a country, from Greek and Spanish tapas to French, Mexican and Italian, and since there is no alcohol licence, guests bring their own drinks. Booking ahead is advised, particularly for those evenings. Trading runs Tuesday to Saturday in the daytime, with Mondays and Sundays closed. A garden with outdoor seating gives an option for eating outside, dogs are welcome there, and high chairs mean families with young children are catered for. Takeaway orders cover food to eat off site, including afternoon tea boxes made to order. The entrance is step-free for visitors with mobility needs.

Customer Review Summary
The themed bistro evenings draw the most attention, with reviewers describing Greek, Spanish tapas, French and Mexican pop-up nights of several freshly prepared courses, and several suggest booking well in advance and note that the cafe has no alcohol licence so guests bring their own drinks. Close behind sits the everyday menu: a vegetarian breakfast whose "small" portion still arrived generous, local sausages, fresh barista coffee, big pots of tea, filled rolls and home made cakes, with repeated mentions of generous servings and value. One reviewer ordered afternoon tea boxes for a family birthday and found dietary and fussy children's requirements met without fuss. The recurring reservation is service warmth: two reviewers felt staff were friendly to regulars but cooler toward passers by, one describing a waitress who seemed preoccupied. A dissatisfied visitor reported being scowled at on arrival, a drink order never taken, tomatoes missing from a relative's plate, a room cold enough that diners kept their coats on, and remarks made about another customer's review.

“Been visiting here weekly now for a few months and everything is spot on, great food, great friendly service,, don't have to wait long for food and better value for money than most other cafes, highly recommended”

“Not been in since it changed hands but still had some really nice food and good coffee. Staff appeared friendly towards regulars but not so much towards "passers by". Lady serving seemed preoccupied. Would recommend in terms of food, was excellent.”

“Luvly little café; very friendly staff and fellow (local/regular) customers with very nice food at very reasonable prices👌 also seemed to be dog friendly, and they do have some out door seating. Good selection of menu items as well as something for those with a sweet tooth. Definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area and want either a quick bite or something towards a meal”

“Just had a delicious vegetarian breakfast. Even though the menu said 'small' breakfast, the portions were really good. Excellent, fresh coffee too!”

“I’m writing this review to let you know that KC’s Cafe on Main Rd,Gedling is an incredible find with an extensive menu including mouth watering daily specials, takeaways, freshly filled rolls and a wide range of home made cakes to die for. All these delicacies can be washed down with barista coffees and in my case a big pot of tea. The portion sizes and the prices are simply, excellent value for money. Recently I attended another one of their themed Bistro evenings, held every second Saturday throughout the year. This Greek evening offered up FOUR authentic and delicious courses, all freshly prepared and for JUST £25. You can also bring your own booze!!! I’ve become a big fan of these evenings as have many others and it’s definitely best to book way in advance. They have a lengthy list of future events and I’m particularly looking forward to next Italian and Spanish evenings. The cafe has a cozy and inviting ambience and the garden is lovely. I’d just like to say a very big thank you to all the amazing staff at KC’s for running this absolute gem of an eatery.”
