About Café 118
Café 118 is a family run cafe and tea room on Burton Rd in Nottingham, open for walk-ins throughout the day. The counter displays homemade cakes, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, and a salad bar, while the cooked menu runs from toasted teacakes and a bacon roll to mushrooms on sourdough and a full English breakfast, with a vegetarian cooked option and Eggs Benedict also available. Coffee and walnut cake rounds out the counter selection. Seating fills the inside space and extends to a patio area out back, giving those who prefer it a spot outdoors. The entrance is step-free and wheelchair accessible, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. Cash is the preferred payment method, and takeaway is offered for those eating off site. The cafe opens daily during daytime hours only, with no evening service.

Customer Review Summary
Cooked breakfast draws the most praise at this family run cafe, with reviewers singling out the full monty and Eggs Benedict as perfectly cooked, a sausage one calls the best in years, and a good vegetarian cooked breakfast. Close behind are the homemade cakes, sausage rolls and scotch eggs on the counter, plus toasted teacakes, a bacon roll and mushrooms on sourdough from a group's brunch visit. Diners repeatedly describe a friendly welcome and kind, patient staff, and one reviewer caring for a parent with dementia says nobody needed to be asked for patience. Several mention the owner's cooking, a Greek Night, vegan options and the patio out back. The one dissenting reviewer ordered takeaway that arrived messy, with a purple-centred sausage and pale bacon, and also felt stared at by a staff member, though they called the customer service good. Regulars say they visit weekly and have made it a haunt.

“Wonderful cafe. Typical English cafe food but beautifully cooked. Plenty of space inside, lovely staff. Very flexible with the menu. Honestly, what is not to like!”

“The staff at this place are amazing! My mum has dementia yet you can't immediately tell as she's only 66, so when she's confused, having random conversations or seems a little rude, I often have to tell servers that she has dementia and ask that they be patient with her. Here, we have been twice and I have not even had to mention it as they have been extremely kind and very patient anyway! It has been very refreshing, especially for mum. We will definitely be back, probably Wednesdays as that's our day trip day. They prefer cash so as they look after us so well, I purposely go cash point prior to arrival.”
