  “I am disappointed to be leaving this review, as we have ordered from this restaurant before and generally found the food to be very tasty. Unfortunately, our most recent experience fell well below expectations. When we placed our order, the estimated delivery time was around an hour. After an hour and a half with no sign of the food, I called the restaurant for an update. I was told that the driver had allegedly delivered the order and had been instructed by the occupant to leave it outside the property. This was simply not true. Neither my partner nor I had seen or spoken to any delivery driver. Rather than investigating the issue, I was asked whether I had Ring doorbell footage to prove the food had not been delivered. The restaurant eventually agreed to send the driver back. While waiting outside, my partner and I saw that the order had actually been delivered to the wrong address further down the road. The driver then retrieved the food and brought it to us. By this point, it had been sitting outside the wrong property for approximately 20 minutes. When I explained that this was not acceptable, the driver became defensive and suggested that because the weather was hot, the food should still be hot as well. This response was frustrating and failed to acknowledge the problem. To their credit, the restaurant offered a 20% discount (around £8), but I do not feel this adequately reflected the circumstances, particularly given that the order was nearly £50. Not only had the food been delayed and delivered to the wrong address, but some of it was no longer as hot and fresh as it should have been. To make matters worse, two items were incorrect: we received a rice dish instead of chow mein and a sweet and sour dish instead of the Cantonese dish we had ordered. My complaint is not simply about the delay. Mistakes can happen. The bigger issues were the incorrect delivery, the initial suggestion that the order had been delivered correctly, the expectation that I somehow prove otherwise, the poor handling of the situation, and the fact that the order itself was not entirely correct when it finally arrived. It is a real shame because we have enjoyed food from this restaurant in the past. However, the combination of poor service, incorrect items, and the handling of this issue has unfortunately left me reluctant to order from them again.”

  “The worst takeaway I’ve ever had. We haven’t used them in a year but thought we would try again. The beef in black bean was like rotten cardboard and my partners chicken curry was just ok. The soup was the most horrendous thing I’ve ever had. Chicken and mushroom soup which I’d say was some water with a dash of soy sauce with last month’s mushroom and some chicken found in the bottom of the fridge. We ate none of it and I would recommend trying somewhere else if you don’t want to waste money. Truly a shame as it was a great takeaway.”

  “Ordered food at 4.30 said that it would be after 6.00 when it turned up and we served it it was just about warm . Chips where so hard . Must have been refried . Not there best meal we have had from them . So will give that a mis for a while . Disappointing I would say”

  “Ordered a curry which used to be good, now it's mostly liquid, onions & little else. Chips were at best reheated microwave. Used to order regular various meals but that is the last. Prices for not related to menu at all £16.80 Inc delivery off menu now £18.90. total rip off. Prices gone up, quality gone down.”

  “pre-ordered online at 1215pm for a 6.15pm delivery, paying £7.00 for delivery. Ignored the high price for delivery as it was Xmas Eve and we were hungry! Rang up at 6.00pm just to check everything was on time to be told it would be 2hrs for delivery. Explained the circumstances to no avail other than you can cancel your order via the ordering app (which you can’t). Owing to it being the festive period, we continued with the order. The order eventually arrived around 8.15pm (even after ringing the shop to enquire about removing the delivery fee for being soo late - this was a nono) - when it was served up the food was Luke warm. Not the best experience, and the staff were unhelpful really.”

  “Both usual meal for my son but after putting on the plate noticed it was not we ordered. Wrong food received. Called them but no support or any options to fix the issue. They told me we don’t know what to do and there was only awkward silence 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️Poor customer service. Not happy at all. Another thing… those days you should have some vega opinions available not only vegetarian.”

  “We ordered a large takeaway from Happy House after our usual chinese was closed. It was absolutely delicious and we will now order from here regularly. The service is exceptional and the man who served was very polite and there was no waiting around. Can really recommend the honey chilli chicken and crispy shredded beef.”

  “Poor service and attitude of delivery driver. Ordered food at 7pm didn't get to me till 9pm and all I got was £30 to pay. Sorry but when food stone cold and 2 hours late I should have had it free not to get £5 off. I will not use these ppl again. I had to put 1 star just to leave this review otherwise I would have left -100.”
