About Kwai Feh
Kwai Feh is a Chinese restaurant in Newcastle Upon Tyne, on Branton South, and the first sit-in and take-away restaurant on Great Park. Wall art runs through the dining room, so guests can eat in or collect. The menu pairs Chinese dishes with newer Asian creations, including Kwai Feh special fried rice, siu mei dim sum and gyozas filled with either vegetable or pork. A four-course banquet menu is available for those who want a set meal. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options appear on the menu. Kwai Feh serves evenings only and is closed on Tuesdays.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return to the Kwai Feh special fried rice, ordered alongside king prawns in mango curry, shredded beef, bbq chicken, lemon chicken and bbq pork ribs. Close behind are the starters and dim sum, with vegetable gyozas, vegetable tempura described as not oily, salt and pepper mushrooms, siu mei dim sum and lunch buns all singled out. Reviewers call the food fresh, flavourful and not greasy, and one says the portions were big enough to parcel up for another meal. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free choices are repeatedly noted as plentiful. Staff are called friendly and helpful, and one reviewer says the owner came to each table to ask names. The complaints are small. One diner found the king prawns too salty to finish, another could not finish the four course banquet, and a third found the saté closer to a curry with no peanut flavour. One coeliac reviewer says their gluten free items were packed in a separate takeaway bag.

“The food was beautiful and it did not feel greesy. The saté was different from what we expected, more like a curry and no peaunut flavour. They separated my gluten free items in a different takeaway bag and they appear knowledgable when we call about accomodations for a coeliac.”

“We tried it last night at Great Park, we’d never been before but always wanted to see what it was like and we were not disappointed! The service was great and all the staff were really nice and friendly, even though it was fully booked and they were very busy, all of our food and drink was brought out in good time. We had the banquet at £32 each which is four courses. We had chicken & sweetcorn soup, duck with pancakes to share, king prawns to share, chicken & black bean sauce, Kwai Fai special fried rice and battered chicken in bbq sauce. All of these were delicious! We found it was too much food in the end and we couldn’t finish it so next time we’d just order a variety of dishes and share them out between us, but £32 each for all that food is good value I think. The food all tasted really fresh, the prawns were the freshest I’ve tried, if I could find any fault it would be that the prawns were too salty so I couldn’t eat many of them but other than that we’ll definitely be visiting again as it’s great to have a decent Chinese restaurant on our doorstep (we live in Kingston Park). I think it came to around £85 for the two of us and that included two beers each. 5/5 we will definitely be back in the near future!”
