Customer Review Summary
The complaints are specific and recur. Longtime customers say quality has slipped, with the munchbox losing its noodles and second sauce, smaller portions, and a chow mein that falls short of before. Two reviewers describe the A2 set meal as greasy, with chewy, fatty meat, sticky rice, and rubbery chicken. One of them was charged a service charge above the menu price and offered free prawn crackers that were already part of the set meal. Another says a long-time favourite order arrived cold and stale.

“This has been my favourite for years. Tonight if I could score minus I would. It arrived cold and I think it was from days ago as it was disgusting and stale. It’s in the bin and so is my custom.”

“Dragon palace has been my go Takeaway for years but recently the food has gone massively downhill. Munchbox was always great now no noodles included and only one sauce. The quality of the ingredients has gone down hill and the portions sizes reduced. Ordered a chow mein tonight and it’s nowhere near what it was. Don’t know if there has also been a change of chef or just cheaper ingredients but I won’t be ordering again.”

“Just tried this Chinese takeaway for the first time tonight and honestly… it’s the best I’ve had in Newcastle. The food was unreal, but the honey chilli chicken completely stole the show — easily the best I’ve ever tasted. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavour, and just the right balance of sweet and spicy. If you’re thinking about ordering, do it. I’ll definitely be coming back”
