  “I came here for Sunday dinner with family. It was a quiet and spacious area with tables not packed in too tightly, so that was a good first impression! Choice of food was great - more roast choices than many restaurants, as well as other dishes, and loads of desserts. Definitely something to please everybody. The food was really well cooked, good quality and tasted delicious. Service was friendly and efficient - one of our desserts was forgotten but came out reasonably quickly. There are a few small things that could improve, but not enough to spoil the visit: -there's a small bar area adjacent to the dining room and some people who had just come in for drinks and to sit at the bar became pretty loud, which wasn't great for a dining atmosphere. -the cheesecake was absolutely delicious - but the base was so hard that it was difficult to cut and eat it without it flying everywhere! -the crème brûlée was advertised as coming with biscuits, but it was served with two plain, dry, trifle sponges - quite a strange choice and not a very nice thing to eat on its own! However, still an excellent lunch overall and we'd definitely return.”

  “We went on a sunny weekday afternoon and sat out on the patio. Food was brilliant, we had a mixture of starters mains and desserts. Everyone enjoyed our meals, worth a visit if your in the area.”

  “I have visited The Fox @ Kirton three times in the last month, and every single experience has been spectacular. Starting with Christmas Day 🎅🏼🎄 — from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a glass of Prosecco and a gentleman playing the piano 🎹, which was such a beautiful and elegant touch. The food that followed was outstanding. We had the table from 12–4, so there was no rushing at all, and each course of the five-course meal was phenomenal. Just as we were preparing to leave, the head chef/landlord took the time to visit every table to speak with guests and check that everyone had enjoyed their day. We were then each given a gift bag containing Prosecco, a Christmas pudding, and a Christmas cracker — such a thoughtful and generous gesture. Our second visit was on a Sunday evening, and although we arrived quite late, the food was still freshly cooked and absolutely delicious — not at all like the dry, overcooked Sunday roasts you sometimes get later in the day. Once again, after service, Aji came out to personally check that we had enjoyed our meals, which really speaks volumes about the pride taken in both the food and the customer experience. Our most recent visit was on Monday, and once again it did not disappoint. My partner had the belly pork burger from the main menu, while I chose the prawn Thai red curry from the specials — both were phenomenal. Andrea, the bar manager, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when my partner was asking about the hand-pulled ales available, and she was just as insightful when answering my questions about the menu, sharing her own favourites and what dishes had received great feedback. She also mentioned that unlike other jobs she has had, she feels proud to take each meal out as she is confident each dish looks and tastes outstanding, which so far I have to agree with. Another point I would like to make is how dog friendly they are. My dog suffers with separation anxiety and being able to bring her with us makes all the difference to our life as not only stresses her but us when we have to leave her. I genuinely can’t wait to go back again. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and a real sense of care throughout — The Fox @ Kirton is a true gem.”
