Customer Review Summary

Cakes draw the most praise. One reviewer calls the selection possibly the best they have seen, and several mention the gluten-free options, with one noting staff were careful about allergies. Lunch also earns strong comments, from a homemade quiche with salad and a pot of tea to soup and sandwiches, plus pizzas and deli boards from the wood fired kitchen and a specials board. Reviewers also single out good coffee, a lovely kids menu and an eating area they call bright and clean. Breakfast draws the sharpest criticism. One diner got cremated sausages and overcooked eggs, with replacements arriving only at the end of breakfast and plates slammed onto the table. Another found the beans, bacon and black pudding pre cooked and very dry. A solo visitor queued outside on a quiet day, then was offered a shared seat by the entrance door before being shown to one of the many empty tables. Even on a packed Apple Day, one reviewer's lunch arrived promptly while staff cleared tables and seated people quickly.

“Possibly the best selection of cakes I've ever seen. However, it was breakfast time so we opted for a breakfast which was a little disappointing. The beans, bacon and black pudding had all clearly been pre cooked and unfortunately all very dry. The garden centre is amazing and the selection of plants is fantastic. There is ample parking and is just off a main road so very easy to access. Would definitely return but for cake :)”

“Called into the popular Garden Cafe for lunch on Saturday. The Garden Centre was holding Apple Day which meant that the Cafe was incredibly busy, however our food arrived promptly and was lovely, as usual. A special shout out to Ben who was doing a sterling job of clearing tables and getting everyone seated as quickly as possible👏👏”

“The setting is a typical garden centre cafe but the food is excellent and the eating area bright and clean. Lots of gluten free options and they were very careful about allergies..”
  • Mathew Davies
“The sausages were cremated and the eggs were overcooked rather than runny. I complained about the sausages, and what appeared to be a manager took them away and returned with replacements, although they didn’t arrive until the end of breakfast. The service was generally very good, with excellent coffee and friendly, efficient service at the till. The only other issue was that plates were being slammed onto the table. Value for money definitely not.”

“Fab place to have a drive out, some delicious lunch where they always have a specials board. Lovely garden section all year round and the home section is really special.”
