  “Visited Kendal today and popped in for lunch. There was plenty to choose from on the menu, but we both went for the beef chilli jacket potatoes, which were really nice. The potatoes were lovely and soft, the chilli was tasty, and they came with a good serving of fresh salad. I also had English breakfast tea and was pleasantly surprised to find it was proper loose-leaf tea, which made it even more enjoyable. The service was friendly and it was lovely to see the lady behind the counter greeting so many customers she clearly knew. It gave the place a really nice, welcoming feel. Thanks for a lovely lunch! If we’re ever back in Kendal, we’ll definitely pop in again.”

  “At 1st atmosphere and prices seemed good however food arrived (jacket potato and a full English) was cold. I waiting to be asked how it was but even as I was paying the woman didn’t even ask how the food was. Clearly you know the standard of your own food if you don’t ask this question. Won’t be returning”

  “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a lovely experience at this café. We ordered a cappuccino, a hot Americano, yogurt with granola, and a berry waffle. Everything was delicious, especially the waffle with berries — sweet, fresh, and enjoyable. What truly stood out was the staff. They were incredibly kind, respectful, helpful, and welcoming. Their genuine kindness made our experience even more pleasant. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff for their excellent service and warm hospitality. We truly appreciated it! 🤍”

  “My partner and I bought two bakes: the GF brownie and a brookie. We visited again because we loved the GF brownie bought a few days prior. We were unpleasantly surprised to find strands of hair in our brookie. It was a shame that we had to throw it away. We tried to provide this feedback through email and FB messenger but no one responded.”

  “Had a brunch at Roast&Toast in Kendal town centre. Small coffee shop but with a lovely and charming interior. They had the upstairs section as well where you could have a street view. We had avocado toast and tuna panini which both of them were so yummy. The late was also perfect and so was the hot chocolate. Highly recommended this place!”

  “My friend and I came across this place during a trip to Kendal on the way to the northern lakes. The food was great and I bought one of the cakes on the way out (the pretzel, hazelnut, shortbread one) which was really, really good and was demolished in the car soon after! 😋”
