Customer Review Summary

Reviewers come for the vegetarian and vegan food, and generous portions come up repeatedly. The falafel Buddha bowl is called one of the best cafe lunches one diner has had, while the coronation cauliflower and a super food salad are each singled out by name. Several describe fresh, tasty salads and vegan dishes made without compromises, and one values the place as an alternative to the many bread based cafes around Kendal. One reviewer recommends the hot chocolate, and another says to just have the coronation cauliflower. Staff are described as friendly and lovely. The trade-offs are modest. One reviewer finds it a bit on the more expensive side but says the portions justify it, and another notes limited seating at rush hour because the cafe is always busy. The single low rating complains only that the food is nothing like a ganoush. Even with a full room, diners report quick service and short waits for their orders.

“Outrageously delicious vegetarian food, much of which was vegan and gluten free, but without compromises. The generous falafel Buddha bowl was one of the best cafe lunches l’ve ever had. Excellent, quick service even though the cafe was full. Dog friendly. Parking less than a minute walk away in a multi storey car park with an EV charger. Highly recommended! We will be returning!”

“My favourite place for lunch in Kendal! The food is incredible, such generous portions too. A bit on the more expensive side but you definitely get your money’s worth. The staff are super lovely too. It’s always busy and it’s no surprise why! 😍”

“Lovely food and a great alternative to the many bread based options at the cafés dotted around Kendal.”
  • Abdullah Farooqui
“A charming cafe tucked away in a quiet alley, they have a wide array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options that are absolutely delightful, fresh, whole, and filling. You will not be disappointed. The wait time for our order was short, and service was excellent. The only potential issue is the lack of seating during rush hour, but that’s only because of how in-demand their outstanding dishes are! Their staff are hardworking, friendly, and quick on their feet! Great and welcoming people, together creating a warm atmosphere. P.S. I highly recommend their hot chocolate!”
