Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the fish, with fishcakes and seabass praised repeatedly and one reviewer calling the salmon the best they had ever had. Close behind are the venison, guinea fowl, pork loin and rabbit starter, plus the croquettes, cheesecake, panna cotta and a chocolate dessert. Service is described as friendly and well paced, and the open kitchen and intimate feel get a mention. The recurring complaint is portion size against cost. Reviewers describe three small scallops, a linguine with only two mussels and tiny mains. One found the lamb and pork belly dry, rough and gritty, and another found a croquette bland. Several also found the room loud, hot or stuffy, and one wanted more plant-based mains. One reviewer recommends reserving, since diners were turned away on a Saturday evening. A vegetarian couple recall a waitress noticing the prosciutto butter that comes with the soda bread muffins and bringing a pink peppercorn butter instead.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars – An Absolutely Outstanding Experience! What an incredible evening at Sage in Menai Bridge! We visited last night for dinner, and honestly, I cannot praise this place enough! The food was second to none! My fish cakes were absolutely bursting with flavour, and the pork loin was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Every mouthful was a delight, and you can really tell how much passion and care goes into every dish. A huge shoutout to Bethany, who looked after us so wonderfully. Her service was exceptional from start to finish. She made us feel genuinely welcome, was attentive, friendly and clearly knows exactly what she’s doing. She’s a real credit to the restaurant! And as for Chef Jack… WOW! If I could have him as my personal chef, I absolutely would! What a talent! The quality of the food speaks for itself, and he deserves every bit of recognition. As someone who works in hospitality myself, I really appreciate it when a restaurant gets everything right, and Sage certainly did. From the food to the service and the overall experience, it was faultless. Sage is an absolute gem in Menai Bridge and a MUST-VISIT! We will most definitely be back very soon. Thank you, Bethany and Jack, for such a memorable evening! 👏❤️”

“Chose here for our last dinner out on our honeymoon in Anglesey and we were very glad as we have a wonderful time! We had the choice of the main a la carte menu or a midweek 3 course special menu - unable to decide we went for the set menu plus 3 courses from the main and shared! All the food was excellent and beautifully presented. The salmon was probably the best we'd ever had and the fishcakes, seabass and chocolate dessert highlights too! They had excellent local cider "Taffy Apple"!! and the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly.”

“Uncomfortably loud. The noise levels as people tried to talk to each other spoilt the enjoyment. The general menu was interesting but another North Wales restaurant yet to catch up on the move to plant-based options. Only one main course choice and an off menu substitute for starter. Portions were small but well presented Difficult to rate this higher than a 3-3.5”

“Even though it was quite hot and loud in the restaurant, we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. The courses were all excellent! Service was fast and very friendly. Would come back anytime and can fully recommend! Heartfelt thank you to the team ❤️”

“We really enjoyed our visit to Sage Kitchen. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was nicely relaxed. All of the main courses sounded lovely, and we finally settled on the guinea fowl, which was excellent. As a number of potential diners were turned away (it was a Saturday evening), reserving a table is highly recommended.”
