Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise the curries at Avatar Dining, with the chicken balti coming up repeatedly alongside the Korma, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and king prawn jalfrezi. One diner calls the lamb fall apart tender, and another singles out the vindaloo. Close behind are the garlic and keema naan and perfectly cooked rice, and several describe friendly, welcoming staff, including one who ordered a taxi home for a party. A Sunday lunch buffet with a wide choice of starters and mains pleased a group of five, and another reviewer mentions daily set meals and generous portions. Spice levels are described as genuinely hot. On the downside, one reviewer found the room loud and the service intrusive, since different staff waited on them through the meal and repeated questions. Another says prices are high, though they felt the food justified it. One reviewer who arrived for an early offer found it had been changed to midweek only on the printed menu but not on the website, and called the prices a rip off. One reviewer suggests booking at weekends, and a pint of Cobra alongside the meal comes up in several accounts.

“Wow! we were not expecting food this good. I have eaten at so many run of the mill Indian restaurants over the years, and this is not that. Top quality ingredients (including fall apart lamb, my benchmark and something I find rarely), inventive and delicious dishes, top notch service. Prices are pretty high, but oh so worth it. I only wish I lived nearby. This is now in my top three Indians of all time.”

“We were a party of 5 adults and arrived on a Sunday at lunchtime, and we're glad to see a choice of Buffet or a la Carte. We chose the buffet and were very pleased. There was a great variety, plenty of starters and mains. The bill, including a couple of pints of Cobra and some cokes etc was only £120. Great Value. The staff were all welcoming and pleasant. I would definitely visit again.”

“Went on Sunday for the early offer on the website but this has been changed to midweek only but not updated on the website. Only realised this after sitting down and seeing on the printed menu so went with it. Rip off prices. Get a better curry down aldi. Don't waste your money.”
