About Chetwode Arms
Chetwode Arms is a country food restaurant on London Rd in Market Drayton, with a dog-friendly bar alongside its dining areas. Sunday lunch and Sunday dinner are served as a roast, which comes with a large Yorkshire pudding and plenty of meat. The gravy arrives already on the roast, and the vegetables come in a separate bowl. The menu also lists a mixed grill and fish and chips with tartare sauce. The bar serves local beers. A private dining room gives groups a space of their own.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is the main draw, with the roast beef singled out most often, served with a large Yorkshire pudding, plenty of meat and gravy already on the plate. Reviewers call the portions good and generous, and one says the beef was among the best they have eaten. Close behind are the onion rings, praised by one diner who also liked the fish and chips with tartare sauce, and a mixed grill described as exceptional. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and several mention the outdoor tables and the dog friendly bar. Some small complaints recur. One reviewer found the roast potatoes a little pale, and another said the bar area was deafening, with noise bouncing off hard surfaces, after being told to sit there because they were only having drinks. One lunchtime visitor could hear everyone's conversation and wanted some music. A few note it is busy on weekends, and one says booking is recommended at those times, though staff found walk-ins a table. Reviewers close on small details like beer from local brewers and a large open space for children.

“An outstanding Sunday dinner ! Just called in as driving past, managed to get a good table in the bar. Restaurant busy which is always a great sign. Perfectly cooked, served at right temperature. Not too long to wait. Roast beef was perhaps some of the best we’ve ever eaten. Other pubs…. Take note….. this is how it’s done 👍👍”

“This is a lovely pub/restaurant as soon as you enter you are greeted by friendly staff. Booking is recommended at busy times like at the weekend but it is possible to walk in and staff will do there best to find you a table. The menu is good of which you can choose from to eat in the bar or restaurant or even outside for there is plenty of tables with parasols. There is a friendly atmosphere all around and the bar is dog friendly. We have been here a few times now with family and friends and I highly recommend it 💯% !!!”

“Passing by, went for lunch. Lovely place. Will definately go again. Lovely staff and service, would like to go in the evening to check the atmosphere, needs a little music (lunchtime) as could hear everyone's conversation! Outside seating looked great too.”
