  “I walked in here @9:15 pm, 15 mins to closing, I saw a man, the last customer had just walked out, I had no idea what time it was cos my phone had died sometime before cos I'd been visiting, exploring & walking around Market Drayton for about 9 hours taking tonnes of photographs of the beautiful historic and Tudor buildings ! So I could not navigate my way back to where I was staying in nearby town of Whitchurch about 25 minutes drive away, I am new to this area & only my 2nd time here & I felt lost ! I was pretty hungry too cos I hadn't eaten since the night before. So I asked could I buy something to eat & sit in their restaurant / indoor seating area & plug-in my phone to get some charge to enable me to find my way "home" to my Airbnb digs for the night ?! Extremely nice Bulgarian? / Turkish (not Romanian ? Hungarian ?) man behind the counter, said they're closing in 15 minutes & as I could see, they'd packed up & cleaned everything, the restaurant was closed & there was barely anything left in the hot plates & the fryers were being turned off & there was no-one else in there but he said yes I could plug my phone in & get as much charge on my phone as possible in the limited time left available to hopefully enable me to get home & he said he would cook me something to eat, whatever, if I wanted. I was concerned cos they'd cleaned everything, he assured me it was fine, so I asked for a piece of fish so he turned the fryer back on & let me sit down & wait for 5 minutes & I used their ladies toilet. I thanked him very much, there was another man or more working in the back & came through & said of course I could charge my phone. I told him I would write a review so I keep my word. I got "home" safe. Thank You. The fish was steaming hot & just what I needed! As I left @9:30 (closing time) another man, customer walked in ! Poor man ! That he was trying to close up and customers kept walking in ! Bless”

  “Not gonna lie thought it was a cookie place but oh boy! The food was scrumdiddilyumpious!!!! I was served by the one and only hayden and oh boy! He knows how to serve a fish. That guys enthusiasm should be studied because he was a holly jolly person to talk to. Girlie needs a raise and a promotion immediately you won with that guy.”

  “What was once a great chippy 1980s to 2000's has gone down hill. Large fish is a medium in real terms and thin ta boot. The chips were average with a lot of very small off cuts. I suppose when there is no competition since Dales shut down …”

  “My wife and I went to Cookie's for lunch today for the first time since we moved to the town 4 years ago. The whole expérience was terrific. The restaurant is very clean and fresh, the staff friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We had cod, chips and mushy peas. The chips were golden and cooked to perfection, the cod was white, succulent and cooked in a light and crispy batter - not a hint of grease or sogginess. The last bite was every bit as good as the first. A very enjoyable expérience. Try it - you'll like it!”

  “I ordered fish n peas. It was very good. Crunchy batter at the ends of the fish & it was cod! Check out the pics. Hardly any of that horrible gooey white spongy stuff underneath the batter that you get at most chippies. Would I recommend &/or go again? Based on my experience, Absolutely...”

  “Not happy today they gave someone else my order and had to wait 10-15 minutes extra. Then to go home have a very small large fish and chips and a wrong pie. Not pleased at all.”
