About The Crown
On Stafford Street in Market Drayton, The Crown is a bar and pub open daily with a seven-item menu. Fish and chips and a ham sandwich with chips and coleslaw sit among the offerings, and a steak night deal brings steaks cooked to order with chips, mushrooms, tomatoes, peas, and onion rings. Sunday roast is also served. A kids menu makes the room workable for families with young children, and a large patio at the rear gives an option for outdoor dining. The entrance is step-free, suiting visitors with mobility needs, and dogs are welcome throughout. Reservations are recommended, though Sunday lunch has taken walk-ins as well. Both takeaway and delivery are available for those eating off site. For private events, a buffet option can be arranged, with separate allergy provisions on request.

Customer Review Summary
Steak night draws the most repeat mentions, reviewers describing five steaks cooked to order with chips, mushrooms, tomatoes, peas and home made onion rings in crispy batter, all for a set price with a free drink included. Close behind, the Sunday roast comes up often, praised as piping hot with plenty of vegetables and good value, though one family visiting later in the sitting found the meal light on meat, with lamb fine but gammon running low. Diners also single out celebration bookings, from birthday meals to a 21st birthday buffet where allergies were catered for with a separate container and the occasion was treated as private despite being in the main room. The outdoor patio at the rear gets called out by canal visitors for lunch with good beer alongside. Several reviewers name the owners' warmth and describe feeling like part of the family, with dog friendly service and a kids menu also noted. One visit closes on the detail of the owners buying a birthday guest a personal present.

“Very enjoyable Steat Night Deal. 5 steaks, cooked as requested with plenty chips, mushrooms, tomatoes, peas and home made onion rings in a crispy batter with a variety of sauces and a free drink included in price of £15-£20 depending on steak chosen. Excellent choice of very good Ales. We visited here on our Narrowboat holiday but if we lived here this would be my local, great pub.”

“Andy, Jordan and I came for tea tonight. Food was soooooo yummy, the staff are so lovely and Michael & Nicky always go out there way to make us feel part of the family!!! It’s very important that we can find a place where our son can feel comfortable, welcome and at ease. 5 stars from us! Highly recommended ⭐️”

“My favourite local pub, always a great atmosphere that you just can’t beat. Staff are lovely and go above and beyond for you on every visit. The food is much better than stereotypical ‘pub’ food, we often come for celebrations and birthday meals! Great job guys well done :)”

“The pub is under recent new ownership and we have been for Sunday lunch and Tuesday steak night on a number of occasions. Nicky and Michael are always really friendly and being a dog friendly pub is an added bonus. The food is always excellent evidenced by the clean plates that go back through to the kitchen. Moey is generally there to welcome us and is always friendly and welcoming. All in all The Crown is highly recommended.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
