About Lahori Karahi Manchester
Lahori Karahi Manchester is a Pakistani restaurant at 824 Stockport Rd in Manchester, where lamb karahi is ordered by the kilogram and cooked fresh in front of house. Customer Review Summary
Lamb karahi is the dish reviewers raise most, and most praise it as authentic, fresh and full of flavour, with one calling it delicious and another saying it tasted like proper homemade food. Close behind are the starters, with chicken charga and lamb chops singled out, along with seekh kebabs, naan and a mixed grill. Several describe friendly, attentive staff who check in during the meal, and a few mention generous portions. Opinion is split on quality. One reviewer found the lamb karahi hard and tasting frozen, and the fish tasteless. Another said the nihari and biryani were flavorless and the handi seemed reheated, though both of them called the service good. A mixed review found the wings delicious but overdone and the lamb chops okiesh. One reviewer also reports filthy toilets, and another was unhappy that card payment was refused. One visitor says the manager tried to resolve a problem with the food, and a reviewer who travelled from London for the karahi and chargha credits the chefs and the owner.

“Disappointing food, good service. We ordered the Nihari, Biryani, and Handi. Unfortunately, both the Nihari and Biryani were completely flavorless and a total waste of money. The Handi was just barely ok but it felt like it had been reheated in a microwave and tasted a day old. While the staff provided good service, the food itself was completely below par. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. Save your money and go grab a Biryani at a Thai restaurant instead! 😋”

“We were just passing through Manchester and needed somewhere to grab a bite to eat. We drove past Lahori Karahi, liked the look of it, and decided to give it a try. Really glad we did. We were seated straight away, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The waiter who looked after us was really helpful and checked on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was okay. We ordered 1kg of lamb karahi, naan, rice, and a portion of chicken seekh kebabs. It was great seeing the food being cooked fresh in front of house. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and honestly tasted like proper homemade food. The lamb karahi was delicious, the seekh kebabs were spot on, and the naan and rice finished it off perfectly. Overall, a really good experience with great food and excellent service. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Manchester. We'd happily come back again!”

“Great warm welcoming atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and you can see they are so proud of their food the way they talk about it. I'm not surprised either as everything we had was 10/10... The starters (charga and lamb chops), lamb karahi, bread... Delicious! My only complaint was the toilets were filthy, they definitely need to sort them but other than that... This place is bang on!!”
