Customer Review Summary
The recurring complaint concerns cooked dishes. One diner found the teriyaki ribs too salty, and the seafood ramen overly sweet and not authentic. Another loved the sushi and kimchi but called the fried chicken and the seafood and chicken katsu so salty they were unpleasant. One reviewer also found the wallpaper overwhelming. Still, regulars who have returned for years keep coming back for the kimchi and sushi.

“It’s our favourite Japanese place, we’ve been going for years. They serve the best kimchi in the world. It would be great if they had an active fb/insta page with updates re opening times etc.”

“I usually eat sushi here and some kimchi, all v good, and a great place and staff. But I tried some cooked meals there and was really disappointed. They were so salty. We tried the fried chicken and the seafood and chicken katsu, not sure if it was a one off bad day, but it was unpleasant. 5 stars fo sushi and service, one star for cooked food, hence the 3 star rating.”

“Fantastic food, fantastic value and fantastic service! We went for the set menu for two and I was blown away both by the amount of food and the quality. I’d never had Shichimi beef before but it was incredible and the gyoza were very delicate with a great flavour. The service was lovely, super friendly and in general it’s such a wonderful family run little place. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.”

“The service was warm and friendly, and we appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. However, the wallpaper’s pattern and colour combination felt quite overwhelming and made it uncomfortable to relax. We started with the teriyaki ribs, which were unfortunately too salty for our taste. The Japanese seafood ramen was overly sweet and didn’t feel particularly authentic. On a positive note, the sushi was beautifully presented and tasted fresh and delicious. We also found the cash-only policy a bit inconvenient.”
