About Arndale Food Court
Arndale Food Court is a food court in Manchester, located at Arndale near the AO Arena, on M1 1WR. Cafes, restaurants and small kiosks sit side by side, and the choice leans toward fast food, with a McDonald's among the outlets. The seating area has lots of tables and chairs, and the format is self-service, so customers carry their own trays and clear their items into the bins provided. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the sheer variety of eateries, from cafes and restaurants to small kiosks and fast food, with burgers, chips and milkshakes named as tasty, and food that arrives quite quickly and cheaply. Plenty of seating makes it a casual spot for friends, families or eating alone, and several credit cleaning staff who are constantly on the move, though one asks that customers take their own trays to the bins. The main complaints concern the atmosphere: it is described as chaotic and very noisy, with terrible acoustics, and one reviewer says it smells like a swimming bath and finds the food selection poor. McDonald's draws the sharpest criticism, with one reviewer describing rude staff who chuck an order across the counter, and another saying the order screens show food as collected while customers are still waiting. Even so, one visitor calls the busy Sunday crowd before a gig enjoyable, and another likens finding a free table to a game of bingo.

“Don’t go to McDonalds in there as the staff in there are very rude and once they got your order some woman like to chuck your order at you instead of passing it nicely 😡😡😡”

“Went to McDonald's but quite disappointed. The wait time was OK and the food was OK, but what's the point of the screens? It tells you that your order is being prepared, then it tells you that it's ready for collection, then it removes from the screen as if collected, all whilst still waiting for your order. It feels like they are showing that the ordered is being processed quicker than it is to meet their targets, and basically lying. There was nothing wrong with the order, just a little uneasy when the order on the screen is removed, showing that it has been fulfilled when it hasn't. Suggestion - turn the screens off, or if you have to have them on turn down the brightness to reduce the confusion of your customers.”

“The room had terrible acoustics." (The space made sound bounce around badly) very noisy and smells like a swimming bath. Plenty of different choices for food. Cleaning staff very good here. On their feet already on the go.”
