Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the main draw at this Manchester Airport branch, with several reviewers calling it great and one noting it arrived very hot without asking. Close behind are the hot breakfast items: bacon sandwiches praised as better than any cafe bacon the reviewer had tried despite oily bread, a sausage butty served hot, and pear porridge alongside vegan options. Staff are often described as friendly and patient, and one reviewer liked being asked about allergies. The complaints are specific. Two reviewers found the pastries and buns stale, soggy or not fresh, and one skipped food entirely. One called a flat white foul compared with the central Manchester shop. Others mention a chaotic queue, an unwelcoming response when hot water was refused, pastries that had to be requested after paying, and a surcharge on plant-based milk. Even so, one reviewer recalls a till worker who asked them to taste an iced coffee and offered an extra shot if it was not strong enough.

“I am a huge and regular fan of PKB. The one in central Manchester is absolutely fantastic! However, come on PKB you know what Good coffee is and the coffee (flat white) I have just had at terminal two in Manchester Airport was nothing but Foul!!! So Disappointed from such a respected usually trustworthy brand !”

“Hmm, so the barista (girl) put on hand cream, scratched her face (with longish nails) and then picked up two paper cups in one hand using finger and thumb. Now call me fussy, but surely handling the inside of the cup is a bit of a no-no. And then we had to ask for our pastries to be provided as they hadn’t been given to us when we paid. I get it, probably all a 1st world problem, but whatever happened to basic hygiene?”

“I recently visited this outlet at Manchester Airport and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. The food on display, including the buns, did not appear fresh, so we decided not to purchase any food and only bought a coffee. The staff were not very welcoming, and the overall customer service felt unfriendly. I also asked for a glass of hot water and was told that it was not allowed. I understand that this may be company policy, but the way it was communicated came across as rude and lacking courtesy. Customer service and a friendly attitude make a big difference, especially in a busy airport environment. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers.”

“This place has now become an absolute staple for me when going on holiday. Staff are always lovely, coffee is great, and the bacon sandwiches are insane. The bread is a bit oily but so tasty, and the bacon itself is nicer than any other bacon I've had from a cafe. Lady behind the till made my iced coffee and asked me to try it to make sure it was strong enough and offered to add an extra shot if needed (it didn't). Never been to a cafe where the staff actually care about the quality of their coffee, especially in an airport. Always been able to get a table as they have a large selection of tables reserved for customers only.”

“Great coffee at Pot Kettle Black, Manchester Airport Really solid coffee and a proper brew without the usual airport queue chaos. Friendly spot, good quality, and the QR order system worked a treat. Highly recommended if you’re passing through. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
